Author's Note: Hey, guys! Here's a one-shot for you all. So last night, I had a dream that Jess had a dog named 800, I honestly don't know why the dog was named 800, but he was and he was an st. bernard so I just had to write a little story about it. So here it is. Review and favorite. Thanks for reading, booknerdjewel.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything, only the plot.

He has lost his best friend. The only best friend he had ever known. He can't believe that he is gone. They had been through so much together. His best friend was by his side through so many things and now, now he was going to have to go through so many more things without his best friend. He doesn't want to, but he is going to have because his best friend is gone. His best friend is gone.

"Jess, honey," His wife's voice breaks his thoughts. "Are you okay?"

"I can't believe he's gone," Jess quietly says. "It doesn't seem real. We have been through so much together, it's just hard to believe that he really is gone. It's hard to believe that I am going to have to go through the rest of my life without him beside me. For the past ten years, 800 has been by my side for every good thing that has happened. He was with me during those long nights when I was working hard to get my degree. He was with me during those long nights when I was writing my first book. He was with me when I found out that I sold my first book. He was with me when we reconnected, he was with me when we went on our first date after we reconnected, he was with me when I proposed, then he was with us when we got married, he was with us when we bought our first house… I mean I knew he was old, that he was getting up there in age, but you know I always thought that he would be there when we had our first baby but I guess it just wasn't meant to be."

"Oh, Jess," Rory sighs, sitting on the arm of her husband's office chair, wrapping her arm around his shoulders. Jess, in turn, leans into his wife's touch. "Don't cloud all the good times you two had with the ones that could have been. You and 800 had so many wonderful times together and you shouldn't forget those."

Jess opens his mouth to speak, but a small bark interrupts what he was going to say. Small bark? Why would there be a small bark?

"Ror, what was that?" Jess questions.

"Well," Rory says as she stands from the chair, walking over to the office door. "I know no one could ever replace 800, and I am not saying that I want to replace 800, but over the past two weeks, I have noticed how depressed and sad you have been without having 800 around so I thought," Rory pauses, opening the office door and picking up an st. bernard puppy. "I thought maybe we could have an 800 jr. Jess, meet 800 jr. we can just call him junior for short. And junior will be around to see our first baby."

"A new puppy and a new baby," Jess smiles, walking over to where Rory stands, putting one hand on the puppy's head, scratching the little guy's head while he places his other hand of Rory's stomach. "What did I do deserve you?"
