Misreadings

By SMYGO4EVA

Soifon never was one to misinterpret or make an error in her judgment; she was always the one with a moral center of the whole Soul Society, but in a way, she can be seen as the one in error and in imperfection. If she just stood there amongst everyone else, she would go unnoticed even though she was as good as they were. If it wasn't for one Yoruichi Shihōin, Soifon would have no meaning, no worth and nothing to live for. Even if she was of the noble houses, she still would never have made it to captaincy without her.

If it was too early or too late, she still wouldn't have convinced Yoruichi to stay in the Soul Society, for she would only find her gone anyway. In her sorrow, through revenge and admiration, she wanted to defeat anyone who stood in her way. Yoruichi…she mattered to Soifon, up to the point of the very thought of not defeating the goddess of flash would gnaw at her from the inside out. She became dark and secretive, loyal and firm, and almost stoic.

The abandonment she felt when the goddess of flash left was indescribable and inexcusable. Betrayal and lust for power and blood were in her eyes, in her thoughts and Yoruichi was in her mind. As black as a moonless night, Soifon only saw what she would see her vision of true power outweighing the flash master's. She thought that Yoruichi left because of her own selfish reasons, but she was wrong. It was so no one else would be put in danger. The misreadings were evident and Soifon didn't want to be wrong anymore.
