"In Which Morwen Has Cat Problems"

By: CP

Morwen hardly ever made mistakes. She was a careful witch, unlike any other witch she knew
who left messes that they made with their cauldrons or getting ingredients. Morwen was the
complete opposite of any witch, in fact. Also, she never made enemies unless they prejudged her
or tried to melt her. Other witches she knew had enemies, especially with girls with ruby shoes or
girls tag-named "the fairest one of all".

Riding on her broom from getting some supplies for her home, she looked over the side to see her
house. She touched down carefully and hopped off, looking momentarily at her house. Her hazel
eyes gleamed with suspicion. Usually, her cats would be waiting impatiently on her porch, eyeing
her with narrow, hungry eyes. Their first question would be "Did you get us anything to eat?" But
today, the house almost looked empty. Morwen blinked, pushing her glasses firmly in place with
her free hand while the other carried both her broom and her large package. She walked up to her
door and turned the knob.

The door didn't open.

Morwen raised an eyebrow in deep thought. Suddenly, nine gleaming eyes appeared in the
window.

"Trouble! Jasmine! Aunt Ophelia!" Morwen snapped.

"Mrrroooowwwyyrrr," the three cats yowled at once.

Morwen's eyes narrowed in annoyance. "What?"

"Did you get IT?" Trouble hissed.

Morwen felt her head get tight in anger, but the calm witch kept her calm voice, "Get what?"

Suddenly, a bag of "Puss In Boots Kitty Litter" was tossed out the open window. Morwen's eyes
only rolled to it while she kept her stand. The window slammed shut. Normally, Morwen would
flinch, but she had to keep her stand.

"You know what we want," Jasmine yowled.

Morwen sighed heavily and rolled her eyes, "Oh yes. I got it."

Suddenly, the door swung open and all nine cats came bounding out, purring harmonically, and
some rubbing against her legs under her robe. Morwen sighed and placed what they wanted
down.

"Cats are such demanding creatures…," Morwen sighed, passing the cats.

A bag of "Fresh Step Kitty Litter" sat on the ground, all nine cats happily pushing after Morwen
with their heads.
