Edward walked with a quick pace, his expression indifferent as his eyes scanned the streets of Munich. His swift, less-than-graceful strides gave the impression of one who was severely annoyed. Ironically, it was an unusually glorious day in Munich. The sun was bright and high upon a sky so clear a blue and dotted with fluffy white clouds with the breeze so cool and fresh. All Munich's residents rejoiced at such weather, yet to Edward Elric, good weather spoke of memories he so desperately wanted to put behind him.

Glorious weather and fresh air meant Resembool; bright suns and clear blue skies meant coming home to her. Good weather symbolized luxuries he could no longer afford, for Munich would never be Resembool with its tall structures and busy streets, would never be a home with beautiful Winry Rockbell waiting – no matter what he told Alphonse.

As Edward continued to walk in his brusque manner, the sun, sky and winds persisted in mocking him; laughing at him for all his mistakes. With no destination in mind, he wandered about the city. Through streets with unfamiliar people and buildings, all the while pushing himself to ignore the weather's spite and forget lovely Resembool and perhaps Central and everything else he had ever lived for and—

Winry. She stood a few meters away, clad in a sleeveless white dress, with the pretty face and long blonde hair so deeply burned into Edward's mind, heart, and soul. She was talking and laughing with a plump woman with rosy cheeks, and all logic was flung out the window as Ed began to run towards her.

"Winry!" he called, and felt tears of joy sting in his eyes as she turned to him. Her eyes widened. "Ed?" she called back, her own feet, too, starting to make their way to him. With every step he took, he felt happiness and relief and reason to live and home—yet suddenly, as he stared closer into her eyes, he was drained of everything.

All the world had been taken away from him yet again, as they both faltered and stopped, lips moving in perfect unison—

"I'm sorry—"
"the Edward—"
"—Winry I know—"
"—has blue eyes."

And as Edward looked into her amber eyes(so like his own), he could not help but observe that their voices blended in perfect harmony.

Just like, once upon a time, his and his Winry's did.

D: I don't really like animeverse. At all. –mangaaaa- but, I just had to do this. x)

Well, err…I don't really remember Edward Heiderich's eye color, but it was probably blue. Because Alfons's were. So, it's like a yellow-blue complement thing. I'd imagine alter-Winry's eyes were yellow, since Amestris Winry's eyes are blue. XD This could've flowed better... / Anyway, please review :D
