It was a foggy morning. Karin, still fast asleep under the sheets, did not know what was in store for her that day.

"Kariiiiiinnn!" a male voice called.

The groggy 8th grader sat up and answered, "What is it now Kazune?"

"We've gotta get to school! You should've been up hours ago!"

Karin gasped and looked at her clock. It read 8:00 a.m. Karin bolted out of bed and got herself ready within five minutes.

"About time, god, Karin you're slow!" Kazune muttered.

"Not my fault that you didn't wake me up!"

"I did but in case you don't remember, YOU KICKED ME IN THE FACE!" He lifted his blonde bangs to reveal a red mark resembling a foot on his forehead.

"Oh my god! I'm soooo sorry!" Karin apologized.

"It's whatever." Still grumbling, Kazune stumbled out of the door. At Seiei Sakuragaoka, Karin and Kazune ran into their classroom after apologizing and getting a late pass from their teacher. The day dragged on for Karin until lunchtime, and then she was wide awake. Micchi and Himeka reserved a seat for Karin, knowing she would be late, at their usual table.

"Man I was so bored." complained Karin.

"Awww, poor Hanazono-san!" Micchi teased, tickling her.

"Stooooooppppp!" giggled Karin.

A slap was suddenly echoed throughout the cafeteria. A collection of gasps aroused from nearby tables. Kazune sat down and said, "You heard the lady. She said stop." Micchi shot him a smirk.

"Kazune-chan~…." Himeka trailed off.

Karin was looking at both of her friends. She turned her head to look at Micchi when he took her face in his hands. Micchi leaned in and kissed her roughly.

"That's it!" Kazune sputtered. He stood up and yanked him away from a shocked, frozen Karin. Kazune raised his fist and brought it back to collide with the left side of Micchi's jaw. He howled in pain but didn't back off. Micchi swung his own fist, but missed. However the roundhouse kick to Kazune's gut did not. Himeka gasped and looked to Miyon.

"What should we do?" Miyon questioned.

Himeka began to panic, "I don't know!"

"Both of you KNOCK IT OFF!" Karin shouted.

The boys continued to fight. Karin let out a grunt. Just as Micchi was about to punch Kazune, whose mouth was bleeding another figure stepped in front of him. Micchi's anger filled eyes calmed a bit when he saw who it was.

"Karin…" he mumbled.

"Don't touch Kazune-kun. If you harm any other part of him," Karin's head shot up revealing her tear stained face, "I'll rip you apart and I'll never forgive you!"

Micchi paused for a moment then he walked out of the cafeteria, not saying anything as he departed. Everyone was holding their breath as Karin kneeled down by the unconscious Kazune. Karin picked him up and took him to the school nurse.

After cleaning up his wounds, she left the office to leave Karin and Kazune alone as she expected them to be more than friends.

"Kazune-kun! Say something!" Karin cried. A moment later, his eyes fluttered open.

"Thank goodness! You're OK!" she gave him a hug. Kazune winced in pain, Karin noticed and pulled away.

"I'm glad that you're safe from Micchi."

Karin stared at Kazune for a minute. "Why?"

"Huh?"

"Why did you attack him when he kissed me?"

Kazune blushed, taking a fistful of sheet. "You don't like him. Plus, I was protecting you because you're going to be my wife one day, you know, in the future…" Kazune was rambling on but was cut off by Karin's lips against his. Kazune put a hand on her waist, kissing her back. They broke apart for air with smiles on their faces, still inches apart from the other.

"I love you." admitted Karin with a blush.

"I love you too." Kazune grinned as he brought her close for another kiss.
