Disclaimer goodness: None of the characters -including the most spifftacular Luna Lovegood- belong to me, though I do dearly wish they did.

Blood was pretty.

That was the first thing that popped into her mind as she awoke.

Yes, blood was very pretty.

She didn't know why she'd done it, turned her razor against herself. No, she did know. If asked "why did you do it?"
she would reply "Because I can."

And that was the most disturbing thought of all.

But now wasn't the time to dwell on the peculiarities of her mind, no, today was a time for celebration.
She had finally done it, finally crossed over that nearly invisible line into the technicolor world of insanity.

And oh, what a world it was.

She smiled, and rolled up the sleeve of her pajamas to reveal the crimson gash of flesh beneath her elbow.

She loved red. Whilst it may not be her house color, she had loved it just the same. Red was so -warm- so inviting.
Blue was a cold color, colder than green, colder than yellow, colder than red most of all.

How she wished she could just drown in red.

When she was feeling alone she liked to imagine the blood running around her body, imagine that she was filled with red, and warmth, and that made things seem oh-so-much better.

And when she felt better, nothing seemed to matter.

And now the red had come out. The red had come out and enveloped her arms in a sensual embrace, giving her warmth. She had been surrounded by red, -drowned- in it.

In her mind she could see herself bleeding an ocean of red, letting it all seep out of her for the rest of eternity, so that others might share in the warmth. Red would make everything better. Yes, the red could transform everyone and everything into a thing of beauty, turn her ugly, cold, blue sheets into warm red blankets.

Yes, she loved red.

Loved it most of all.

And now she had felt it,

She knew she would never go back to the cold, cold blue.

A/N: Well, just a little idea I had playing around in my head, it was originally a little side-along fic with my main story: "Just a tiny obsession...but seeing as i've grown lazy and have a writers block the size of Mt Everest inside my head, I decided to use Luna.
So yush, review if you really enjoyed it, or if you really hated it...all flames are welcome and used in the making of suspicious brownies.
