"I'm sorry Suki, I guess I'm just tired."
She watched him walk back inside, his shoulders downturned.
"Oh Sokka." She said quietly. "You're not tired."
She looked up, her eyes gazing at the wide, full moon. A pang of jealousy hit her.
He rarely kissed her under the moon. And never ever under the full moon. Katara had told her why, but it still hurt a bit. It had been a long time since Yue had sacrificed herself. Did Sokka still love her? Was she just a replacement? Was Yue better because she was Water Tribe? Because she was prettier? Because she had never beaten Sokka up?
She gripped the edge of the balcony, looking away from the moon. She shouldn't have to be jealous of a thing. A big, stupid, round white thing. Her grip tightened and her forehead creased.
She was being silly, really. She could never be a replacement. Sokka loved her. He never gave her any sign that he didn't.
Unless they were standing underneath the moon. She pushed off the balcony and entered the house.
She was greeted with a kiss. Sokka smiled and took her hand. "You okay?"
"Yeah... yeah I'm fine." She said. She leaned against him. "Kiss me."
He smirked. "What was that, I couldn't quite hear you?"
She gave him a look, and he bent over to kiss her. When they broke apart she glanced at the window. The moon was out of sight. She held back a sigh.
Never under the moon.
But she supposed she could live with that.
