THE YEARLY 365 CHALLENGE
Challenge #6
Prompt Chosen: #10
Prompt Description: (Location) Fox Forest
"Come here often." Chic leaned against the wall as he looked down at the young teen next to him.
"At times." Kevin sighed. " I mean I came a lot until Jason's body was discovered. Until we were afraid of the serial killer that was running around." He looked around the spot as he felt his panic start to rise once more. "I always thought that Fox Forest was this very cool place where people like me went to hook up in the dark. Away from the people whom frowned on my being gay. But after awhile I figured out it was just a small sad place. I mean why should the gays of Riverdale still have to hide. When people are out and proud all over the world."
Chic nodded. "I understand that feeling." He remembered his own thoughts growing up knowing that he was gay … but knew that his beloved hometown would not accept whom he was if he was out. So he kept quiet. Only his sisters and dad knew the truth.
"But ever since Jason … this place brings horror memories instead of just sad and pathetic ones." Kevin started to shake.
Chic pulled the younger teen against him. "Why did you come back if it holds those memories for you."
Kevin rested his head against Chic's chest. "I don't want to live my life in fear." He listened to Chic's calming heartbeat. "I figured if I could face Fox forest now when we finally learned how and why Jason was murdered … and we got the person. Then my thoughts of a serial killer among those whom come to Fox forest would disappear."
"I get it." Chic nodded as he placed his chin on top of Kevin's head.
"It helps that you are here with me." Kevin breathed into Chic's sweater.
