Don had never thought his brother would survive in his world of crime and violence. Charlie had always been the bright kid, and more often than not he was in a world of his own. A world filled with numbers and equations that Don thought looked like gibberish, that he was a stranger in. So he had assumed that his own world was just as strange to Charlie. But ever since Charlie had begun working with him on cases, he had gradually come to realize that his brother was much more adaptive than he himself was.

And even though it was a sad and violent world he – and now also his brother - worked in, at least it had enabled them to form a close relationship again. That knowledge made it all worthwhile.
