GOING JEDI
"Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray."
Psalms 5: 2
When Dean told Sam that he and Liz would help him work on controlling his new ability: verbal mind control, Liz hadn't been thrilled at the thought of being a guinea pig or a victim of pranks of doom.
"So, how does this work exactly?" Dean asked as they entered a 24-hour laundry mat somewhere in Alabama, and it was so late at night there was no one else there, which was perfect for the Winchesters.
Sam shrugged as they claimed three of the washers and began sorting their dirty laundry. "I'm not really sure," he admitted. "It was sort of a spur of a moment thing."
Dean thought about that as he dumped some laundry detergent into the machine and put some quarters into the slot. "Well, try something simple."
Now Sam thought about what he could get them to do as he put his whites into the washer and discovered he was short a few quarters. "Liz, give me some quarters." And to his surprise, Liz handed him three quarters. "Whoa…it worked."
Liz blinked. "Yeah, you're right." Even Dean was impressed.
"Did you feel anything?" Sam asked.
Liz shook her head. "No, nothing."
"Wow."
"Weird," Dean muttered.
While they were waiting for their laundry to be cleaned, Sam decided to test his voice control on Dean this time. "Get me a drink from the vending machine." And fought back a laugh when Dean got up and headed over to the vending machine, getting a bottle of water.
When Dean came back, he blinked when he gave the water to Sam. "Whoa…that was strange."
"Yeah, it was," Liz agreed.
Sam thought about what he could get his siblings to do, or even say, as he sipped his water. Heck, he could probably get them to tell him what dad had told them before his death. 'Nah, it's tempting, but I'm sure they'll tell me when they're ready.'
Over the next few days, Sam did more minor pranks on his siblings with letting him drive, getting them to eat healthy food, and even got them to go to church with him; but his favorite by far was when they went to a bar in a small town, and he got Dean to flirt with an old lady, who flirted back until he realized what he was doing.
"I swear, Sam," Dean growled when they got back to their motel room, "I'm gonna find a way to get back at you for that one." And both Sam and Liz just laughed as it'd been way too much fun for them.
Later that same night, while Sam was in the bathroom, Liz realized something.
"You know, Dean," she said while brushing her hair, which was starting to grow back. "Sam could've made us tell him our secret."
"Yeah, you're right," Dean agreed, realizing that there'd been plenty of times when Sam could've had done that, but he'd hadn't.
When Sam came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, Dean started an impromptu pillow fight with his siblings, that'd lasted several seconds and left them all tired and happy.
Sam grinned at Dean. "Jerk."
"Bitch," Dean responded, chuckling.
"You both are insane," said Liz, laughing.
And the Winchesters went to bed, happy, and no one had nightmares that night.
A/N: Yeah, it's a bit on the short side, but I was laughing too hard at the pranks I had Sam pull to invent any others. R&R everyone!
