The Key of Fate

Part I

Once there were five friends. They had no parents and no one to tell them right from wrong. So they did it themselves. Right consisted of stealing everything that went through their desert turf. Wrong was killing each other. This may seem limited but it kept them fed.

One day their leader, a mysterious girl named Lune`, heard that a caravan was coming through. The boys ran over to the armory to prepare. Sorax retrieved his scythe and lockpicks. Rixu dug out his swords and his quick dry paint. Kamilio got together his knives, daggers, kunais, and other assorted pointy things. The girls, Lune` and Sola, would stay behind. The guys left the lair and their kind demeanors behind.

Sorax jumped on the back of the wagon train and let himself in. The guards stationed there immediately saw him but wished they hadn't. He had smeared red paint on the blade of his scythe and put on a hood to cover his black, spiky hair. He truly looked like Death. He slowly said "Who wants to die first?"

Rixu jumped on the horses and cut the harnesses. "Why must I always get the sucky job?"

Kamilio made his way up to the Conductor. He slooowly snuck up… and he stabbed the man in the back. He said nothing.

Sorax and Rixu met up with Kamilio. Kamilio's robotic indifference to what he did, had done, and would eventually do was always creepy to Sorax. The trio took their money, called their mounts, and rode home.

Sorax had long ago discovered that riding Shuriken, his dark moon dragon, calmed him. But nothing could calm him now. He was horribly nervous because he had lost one of his lockpicks. Lune` spent a ridiculous amount of time making them, and he had to go and lose one! He sighed and looked down at his necklace. He had had it for as long as he could remember. It was a small black key, with a purple gem set into it. It had a handle so it looked like a small weapon. He sighed again. All the key ever opened was his mind and his temper. So it was dubbed "Oblivion".

Rixu looked down at the key he was holding. He christened it "Way to the Dawn" as it always reminded him of Night becoming Day.

Kamilio observed the small key around his neck. He named it "Follow the Wind" as it fit his lifestyle perfectly.

Once Lune` found out about the lockpick, she exploded.

"YOU MORON!"

"I'm sorry! I got caught up in the moment!"
