Hi I am really happy to know you took time to read my fanfic.
Disclaimer: Jak and Daxter do NOT belong to me. Tawn, Mel and Spider are my own characters! (PS: Tawn is a cat. Mel is a human. And Spider is a 17 year old girl)
Pumpkin: WILL YOU JUST SHUT UP AND GET ON?
Me: Alright, keep your fur on!
Pumpkin: . Sorry, my owner has a VERY irritating habit of talking too much!
Jak tossed and turned. Got up, spun round twice and sat back down again. Tawn opened one eye and looked at him from her spot on the foot of Jak's bed.
"Jak...it's like 3 o' clock in the morning. I have to get up at 8 to keep the mice away from Mel's toast!" Tawn meowed lazily. She stretched her claws, and jumped off Jak's bed and onto the windowsill. The moon shone down, illuminating the black cat that now stared up at Jak.
"Sorry Tawn. Go back to bed if you must" Jak smiled at the cat and rubbed her head, ruffling her fur up.
"Nah. Oooh. I've just realised how hungry I am!" Tawn heard her stomach growl. She jumped off the window and walzted over to the cardboard box that held food, mouldy and fresh, each one stolen or collected. She grimaced at the sight at the ONLY one fresh apple. There was a huge hole in one side. ' I aint eating maggots' she thought as she tossed back into the box. After searching, she gave up, ripped a piece of cardboard off the box and chewed on that contentedly. Jak sat on his bed and watched her for a while.
"What's it like being a cat?" Jak finally whispered into the gloom 'What's the point of whispering? You can barely hear yourself think over the sound of Mel's snores' Jak thought.
"If you must know, pretty big world. All legs. And the ground is pretty interesting up close. Good balancing. Good hearing. Fantastic hunting skills. Great life being a cat!" Tawn mumbled through a mouthful of cardboard.
"Do cats ever have nightmares?" Jak asked her. Tawn stopped chewing.
"Only about when their next meal is. If they're going to get it or not....." Tawn replied.
"And is there actually any cure for a nightmare?" Jak finally asked her. Tawn tossed her cardboard away, and jumped beside Jak.
"Well...yeah. There's all sorts. Such as Spider...." Before Tawn could rattle off the next one, Jak interrupted her.
"Spider?!?!?!?!" Jak was confused.
"Yeah. Spider. She can help. She lives out in the Wasteland somewhere. I often pass her on the Junk Trail hunts. She can cure nightmares in a flash!" Tawn said. Tossing a card at him, she picked up a piece of wood, and carried on chewing.
