Tamiya filmed Milly as she reported about rabbits getting into mutated carrots in Ms Hertz science class. The best friends were filming late at night, turning the lights off to watch the rabbits glow an eerie blue color. "It's kind of unnerving how they glow blue," Milly shuddered and flipped the lights back on.

Tamiya nodded, still holding the camera. She focused the camera on the rabbits, sitting with bloated bellies on various lab tables. Tamiya focused in on a table in the back when she noticed a little piece of a yellow shirt. Tamiya paused the camera and went back, pulling on the yellow fabric, causing a Japanese boy to fall out of the cabinet he was hiding. "Hiroki!" Tamiya announced as Hiroki fell nervously to the floor. "What are you doing here?"

"I, uh…" Hiroki stuttered. "I think I left something in here, and then I saw the rabbits, and you two came in…" Hiroki stuttered, smiling like a maniac. "I didn't want you to think I was snooping."

Milly crossed her arms. "And hiding in a cabinet is supposed to convince us you weren't snooping?" Milly stared at him in disbelief, and Tamiya glared at Hiroki in the same way. "Anyways, we have work to do, so if you don't mind, Hiroki Ishiyama, we'll get back to reporting."

Tamiya picked up the camera as Milly began to report about the rabbits. Hiroki looked back in the closet and was glad he hadn't been holding onto the roses when Tamiya pulled him out. Hiroki held the roses behind his back and slunk out of Ms Hertz's classroom. He looked at the roses as he walked down the hallway, thinking of the weeks he had spent saving up the money to buy them, and how he couldn't even give them to Milly because he was too nervous.

Hiroki slunk against the wall, considering what he could do with the dozen roses now. He frowned, and sighed. He spaced out for a few minutes, until he heard Milly and Tamiya screaming. They seemed frantic, and Hiroki didn't even think before he ran back to the classroom. Milly and Tamiya stood up on lab chairs as mutated rabbits hopped and tried to bite their ankles.

Hiroki mentally thanked Yumi for teaching him a martial arts technique that he could use at that moment in time without fear of hurting the poor confused rabbits. Soon, with bloody ankles and wrists, the rabbits were knocked out and Hiroki was exhausted. Milly hopped down from the lab chair, and she hugged Hiroki with all her might. "Hiroki, you're my hero!" She cried happily, tears of relief streaming down her cheeks. Tamiya, jumping at the opportunity, turned the recording camera at Hiroki and Milly.

Hiroki looked at his roses, beaten up and slightly chewed. "Um, Milly, these are, uh, for you. They were beautiful like you before, but now, they're kind of beaten up." He said, handing Milly the bouquet. Milly looked at Hiroki and kissed him full on the lips, these roses being the first flowers she had ever received from a boy.

"Ha! I'm so glad I got that on video!" Tamiya laughed, holding her camera steady as she laughed.

"TAMIYA!" Milly groaned. She pulled Hiroki out of Ms Hertz's classroom and asked, "Walk me to my dorm?"

Hiroki and Milly walked hand in hand to the dorm room. The full moon seemed to shine brighter than usual. Its light shone off the early January snow. Hiroki held the door open for Milly as they entered the dorm hall. When the new couple reached Milly and Tamiya's dorm, Milly started to open the door when Hiroki stopped her. There was a silent moment before he kissed her goodnight. He turned around to walk home, and saw Tamiya filming him.

The next day, Milly's first date was the buzz of the school. As were her first two kisses. They were the newest 'fling,' and this embarrassed them gravely, but still, that first date was something they remembered.
