A poem inspired by a short power outage. I wasn't scared of the dark it
was the silence that got to me. Therefore this poem about silence.
Deafening Silence
I sit in my room
Listening to the silence
Drifting up from downstairs
Silence from a mother
Who doesn't accept me as her son
The silence is deafening
To sensitive little ears
So to shatter the silence
I wind up my favorite toy
And let it take me away
Music comes softly
From my music box
And dances inside my head
As I close my eyes
And transport myself far away
Far away from the pain
To a place where
There is nothing but music
A place meant for someone like me
A neglected child prodigy
was the silence that got to me. Therefore this poem about silence.
