Killer Moth
Drury Walker was not having a very good day.
3 months ago, as he eagerly awaited a return to the criminal profession after yet another stint in Blackgate. From his tiny cell he was delivered the odd snippet of news, mostly through overheard conversations between guards. He heard strange tales of ridiculous supervillains, monstrous creatures and, in the middle of it all, a bat. The stories told of the bat-man, neither man nor beast, possessing superhuman abilities, strength, flight, agility, but Drury did not believe it. From his cell he heard the various accounts from captured convicts, and he was sure the details didn't add up. He was convinced that this bat-man was in fact just a man, and it inspired him. He whiled away the days planning, designing and recruiting for his new 'business venture'.
It was all going very well, until the plan was to be put into action. For some reason, it seemed, the major players of Gotham's underworld weren't interested in a man in a moth costume claiming he could protect them from the police. The actual costume, he was willing to admit, was a mistake. He decided to make himself the absolute antithesis of the Bat. He chose a bat's natural enemy as a model for his facade, the moth. He also chose to oppose the Bat as a creature of darkness, creating his costume from brightly coloured fabrics, to disguise an armoured helmet, and the best gadgets and gizmos he could afford.
Now, as he walked down an alleyway in the cold, dark, rain, dressed head to toe in a bright green and magenta moth outfit, his sodden wings weighing him down, he couldn't help but wonder if he should think about a change of profession.
