Nico hated the sun. Really, he did, but his dad told him that getting a summer job would be good for him. Give him a sense of responsibility or something. Nick thought it was bullcrap.

And the surf shop was the worst. Surfer guys and girls are some of the most annoying kind of people there are. So laid back without a care in the world. Nico hated it.

Nico heard the door chime and saw a group of surfers walk in. There were four of them. Three guys and one girl. Oh no. Groups were always the worst.

A Latino not much taller than him walked up to the front counter that Nico was behind.

"Hey dude, can you set us up with some surfwax?" He asked.

Surfwax? What was that even supposed to mean?

The blond behind the Latino must have noticed Nico's confusion and spoke up.

"Leo, stop being lazy, you know where it is. Just go grab it." Nico shot him a somewhat grateful look, and once that Leo kid came back with a block of wax, he rang them up and they walked out, the blond looking back to wink at Nico. He felt the blush rising up his neck.

Nico hasn't seen the blond since last week, but couldn't get him out of his head. But today, at noon, the blond walled into the shop with sand in hair and red cheeks from the sun. He shot a quick smile at Nico and headed further into the store. Nico would follow him with his eyes -to make sure he wasn't going to break something, yep, he was sticking with that reason-, but he was helping people check out.

After a minute or two, the blond walled up to the counter with a bottle of sunscreen and shot Nico with an easy smile.

"Hey-" he looked at Nico's nametag, "Nico. The names Will, and aren't you a sight for sore eyes." He had a slight southern accent, but Nico was too distracted by the words that were coming out of his mouth. And he just knew his face was turning the color of the Will's sunburned cheeks.

"I-I don't really think that's appropriate. That'll be $2.57." Will handed him the money.

"Thanks Sunshine." He winked and walked out of the shop. Nico started fanning his face. Damn this boy.

Will, the name suited him. Nico shook his head. He didn't need to have this boy running around his thoughts all day again. He knew how unlikely it was that his mind would be Will free though. Especially now that he knew his name.

Will started becoming a regular in the shop. Sometimes he would buy stuff, but most of the time he would just browse.

He always had some sort of pickup line when he talked to Nico though. And always called him Sunshine, which was ironic, because Nico was probably the palest one on the beach.

Nico hated it. Or at least, that's what he was telling himself.

Today when Will walked in, he seemed almost nervous. Which was odd, because whenever he walked in normally, he'd shoot a smile at Nico and browse their bathing suit collection.

Nico was almost nervous. What was he planning?

After about ten minutes, Will walked up to the counter with a pair of sunglasses and put them down. As Nico was scanning them, will finally spoke up.

"So Sunshine." He paused. "I was wondering if you wanted to maybe like, go have some lunch one you get on break? You know, if you want to, um yeah. I'm just gonna go." He slapped the money in the counter and turned around.

"Will. Wait." Will halted at the door and turned around. "Um. Sure. I'd love to go get some lunch. I get off in about ten minutes." Once Nico finished, Will looked considerably happier.

"Sure! Um yeah! Okay! I'll see you then!" He smiled at Nico and walked out with a little skip in his step. Once the door closed, he heard Will make a loud sound that sounded suspiciously like a victory cry.

You know, maybe the sun wasn't all that bad.
