Confession
Disclaimer: I do not own the canon characters; they belong originally to Lucy Maud Montgomery and now to CBC and Netflix for this interpretation. Based on the prompt: "You're competitive and so am I, and it's going to lead to a fight."

When Gilbert finally asks Anne out after Sebastian's constant instance, her answer is completely unexpected.
"You're competitive and so am I, and it's going to lead to a fight," Anne cautions, her breath hitching in her throat as the wind blows through her red hair.
"Anne," Gilbert softly says as he closes the distance between them. "We've always been competitive with each other! It's part of what I admire about you; you don't blindly agree to something if it is wrong," he reveals, a blush rising in his cheeks. "We can make it work," the aspiring doctor promises, grasping Anne's hands in his own.
"Gilbert, I-" Anne begins, her mouth growing drier by the second as she struggles, for once, to find the proper words. "What if you get bored of me? What if you decide that you don't like orphans who…" the redhead questions, her head pounding as she thinks.
Suddenly, Gilbert presses his hands against Anne's cheeks and slowly kisses her on the lips. Anne gasps before allowing Gilbert to continue.
"Does that answer your question?" Gilbert grins.
"May I hear the answer again?" Anne breathlessly laughs as Gilbert tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.
Author's Note: And there is my second Anne with an E story! I just love this pairing so very much, and when I saw this prompt, it practically screamed Anne and Gilbert to me. Anyway, I am still in the process of re-watching all the episodes to write a one-shot per episode, so stay tuned for future fics in this fandom from me! I hope you all enjoyed. Reviews, as always, are very much appreciated. Until next time, my amazing readers! Have an amazing day, afternoon, or night!
