***ALEX'S POV***

"ALEX, WAKE UP!" my sister, Sophie, screamed in my ear, causing me to jump up and hit my head on the ceiling.

"Ugh. God, Soph, did you really have to scream in my ear?" I asked, rubbing my throbbing head.

"Yes, Alexander, it was necessary. I tried waking you up in a much nicer way, but obviously that didn't work out now, did it?"

"Well, I'm sorry SOMEONE kept me up last night with her music so loud the house was shaking."

"Sorry, I couldn't sleep."

"So you had to keep everyone else up, too?"

"If by everyone else you mean you, then no. And I thought you were still awake preparing for that Battle of the Bands thing for school."

"Oh…," I sighed. Then I remembered something and mentally shot myself, "SHIT! I FORGOT! THAT'S TONIGHT! Oh no, oh no, oh no. This cannot be happening. Where's my phone? I need to call the guys! Soph, why are you just STANDING there?! We have to…"

"Alex! Calm the hell down! Why else would I wake you up this early on a SATURDAY?! The guys are waiting for you downstairs."

"Why didn't you tell me that before?!"

"You kept rambling on! Oh, just get ready before the guys come up here and murder you."

"Are you staying here to help? Or are you gonna abandon us and hang out with Lex and Maddie?"

"Well, I guess we could be nice and help…"

Sophie left me in my room alone so I could get ready. Today was going to be a long day.

***JACK'S POV***

'Where the hell is Alex? He must have forgotten about the competition. Leave it to him to forget something important like that. What are we gonna do with that kid?' I thought to myself and sighed.

"As much as I love Alex, I wanna kill him right now. If we wanna win, we've got to practice. We still haven't picked out which song we're going to play. Oh, what am I thinking. We have no cha…" I was cut off by Alex, who came running down the stairs with his shirt on backwards. He was about halfway down the stairs when he tripped and ended up tumbling down the rest of the stairs, hitting his head against the wall multiple times.

"AHH! FUCK. The world just hates my head today. Ughhh. And Jack, shut the fuck up. We do have a chance. No one at Delaney High has any talent what-so-ever, besides us, of course." Alex stated confidently, after the laughter died down.

"Someone's a little cocky today." Rian muttered.

"Zack shook his head and said, "Nah, he's cocky every day, bro."

"Why don't you two losers shut up so we can get started?" Alex shouted crankily.
