Disclaimer:I don't own any of the characters, only the plot.
This story takes place 4 years after City of Heavenly Fire. Isabelle and Simon are still together, but a lot has changed. He didn't lose his memory though, I just ignored that. I hope you enjoy! Oh and please leave a review, thank you!
He touched the damp grass beneath him and thought of the night before. They had sneaked off into the woods to spend some time alone. She had looked so beautiful standing there underneath the stars. Her pale almost greyish skin had gloved and her eyes, black as the night itself, sparkled as they looked back at his. He was so glad she belonged to him, his Isabelle.
She had woken up before him, kissed his cheek when she thought he didn't notice (not the cheek on his face) and gone to the river. She had been gone a long time now and he wondered if something could have happened, but brushed the thought away, she knew how to defend herself. Then again you couldn't be too sure. Now that she couldn't use her whip anymore and probably hadn't gotten too familiar with the new situation, she might need his help. He got up and walked to the river, crushing the grass beneath him as he went.
There she was. Standing in the stream, surrounded by drops of water dividing the light into thousands of small rainbows. Her nose was under the water blowing bubbles all around her. She rose and swung her hair back, spraying drops of water everywhere. He admired her from the distance, all of her curves and how beautiful she looked, when she was down on all fours. She looked so happy laying there in the cold water and he was glad she finally was. He remembered the time where all she did was crying over the sharp white things in her mouth, yep they both had fangs now, well kind of… but it wasn't really those she was sad about. It was the fact that her family didn't recognize her and that she couldn't walk in high heels anymore. She had tried to once, but let`s just say it didn't end so well.
He walked down to her and she grunted happily when she saw him. He started running a few meters from the river. The ground shook under him every time his massive feet hit the ground. He jumped and a cascade of water rose around wrinkly behind hit the bottom with lots of force and let out a surprise toot. She smiled at him with her big yellow teeth and held back the laughter. He scowled at her and tried to ignore his aching behind. Hopefully the spell would fade during the next couple of months, because he was really getting tired of being an elephant and he knew Isabelle was too.
