A/N: I do not own Power Rangers or Naruto. I own a few characters in this story only.
I was running through the unknown forest hoping that I would find shelter soon. I needed to rest before I started searching the area for whatever it was that I was supposed to be looking for. When I arrived in the forest it was almost dawn. Now it was almost nightfall the following evening. I had been running for almost two days straight. If I didn't stop I was going to pass out.
Luck was not on my side as it started to rain. My vision started to blur and I knew if I didn't stop things would end badly. My skin was numb and the thin clothes I had on were almost instantly soaked. I found a fairly large tree with a fairly good amount of shade and decided to rest there. If I ran for two days straight with no trouble I doubt that a couple hours of sleep out in the open would put me in too much of harm's way. As soon as I was settled underneath the tree, I fell asleep.
When I woke up again, I was no longer in the unknown forest underneath the tree. I was in an unknown room that was incredibly bright. Looking at the bright white walls around me made my eyes hurt. The last place I had been in that was this bright, was the hospital ward in Iwagakure. How the hell did I get here? Where the hell am I?
"You're awake" I heard someone say softly. I looked up to see an older looking man with black eyes and black hair. He wore a pair of black pants and a tight red short sleeved shirt. He had a tray of food in his hands and he was standing at the door. I watched him carefully as he walked to the edge of the bed I was laying on. He set the tray of food down on the table next to the bed.
"You gave us quite a scare. Billy and Alpha picked up your energy signal about thirty miles away from here. When we saw you we thought you were dead." The man told me as he poured me a glass of water. He handed it to me and after I was sure that it wasn't poisoned, I drank half of the glass.
"Where am I?" I asked as I set the glass down on the table. The man looked at me for a moment before pouring more water.
"You're in the outskirts of Morrow Creek. Billy and I found you passed out underneath a tree. We took you here so you could rest." The man said without looking at me.
"Morrow Creek?" I asked softly. I had never heard of a place called Morrow Creek. But I knew that I was no longer in my own world. I only hoped that they sent me to the right world.
"The outskirts of it yes. This is my home" he replied as he tried to get me to eat whatever was on the tray. I took small, cautious bites. Any bite of it could be poisonous.
"How long was I out?" I asked trying to figure out just how long I had to find the stupid rock they wanted me to find.
"A few hours. Honestly we were surprised that you were even alive when we found you. You shouldn't even be awake right now." He told me, amusement evident in his voice. I could deal with a few hours. I still had time to look for the object I was searching for. I pushed the tray of food away from me and pushed the blankets off of me.
"I recover quickly. Thank you for your hospitality but I need to be going. I've spent too much time sleeping as it is." I told him as I stood up. The man got up and gently pushed me back down onto the bed.
"You shouldn't try to get up so quickly. Jason, one of my paramedic friends, checked you over while you were asleep. You're dehydrated and your body is exhausted. You should take it easy" he said after a second.
"I've suffered through worse. I've got limited time to find something so I really need to be going" I said standing up again. I quickly moved past the man towards where my clothes and bag were. I changed into my own clothes, the disgusting ratty things that they were after running for two days in a forest, as quickly as I could. I grabbed my bag and prepared to leave.
"You really should listen to him. You passed out from pure exhaustion. When was the last time you ate or slept?" a new voice asked. I looked towards the door to see a tall, muscular man with sandy brown hair standing in the doorway.
"I'll be fine. I've gone longer without eating or sleeping. Once again, thank you for your hospitality but I will be taking my leave now." With that, I pushed past the brunette and started to walk down the hallway. My legs protested since it had been a while since I actually took a rest. While the building I was in was confusing to me, I refused to be held here any longer. I needed to find the damn thing before it was too late.
"We can help you find whatever you're looking for" the first man stated as the two followed me. I turned to them quickly.
"I doubt that. I work faster alone" I said staring at them dully. I didn't want another team. The last thing I needed was more people to protect or betray. I didn't need to go through that again.
"We can scan multiple areas at once" the brunette stated firmly. "It'll be a lot faster than looking by yourself. What is it that you're looking for?"
"Why should I tell you? I don't even know who you are?" I asked them aggressively.
"We saved your life" the brunette straight away. I gave a small laugh.
"No you picked me up while I slept. I was in no danger and if I was, I would have woken up immediately." I hissed back before turning away from the two men and walking away. I had to get out of this house.
"Why won't you let us help you?" the black haired man asked as they continued to follow me. I passed multiple closed doors as I made my way down the long hallway. It almost reminded me of my own home in Iwagakure. I soon came to a large square room. The sun shined through the glass wall looking out into a clearing surrounded by trees. Against the wall in front of me, many machines were set up with screens displaying various videos. At the chair in front of the machines, sat a man with blond hair and glasses. There was also a life size chunk of metal that was moving and had small lights all over it standing next to the man.
"Aye-yi-yi, she's awake already" the metal said loudly. I was shocked that it could speak let alone be aware of what was going on around it. I looked around trying to find the easiest escape route. I could break through the glass wall and run but there was the possibility that they could track me using my blood and healing my cuts would be a waste of chakra.
"Should you be out of bed? You passed out from exhaustion. Your body needs the rest" the blond haired man commented without looking at me.
"I just want to leave" I told them as I continued to look for a way out. This time they did not stop me.
Within a few hours of leaving, I was no closer to finding the object that I was looking for. Night was approaching quickly and I did not want to give up the search because of the darkness. The fate of everyone I love depended on me finding that object.
As I made my way through a relatively small clearing of trees, I felt an unknown energy force coming towards me. I silently jumped into one of the few trees surrounding me and waited for it to make itself known. I waited calmly and patiently for the energy force to get closer. It was unlike any short of chakra I have ever felt and it put me slightly on edge. I could not figure out how powerful this thing was. Is it friend or foe?
Suddenly, a young man ran into the clearing and stopped in the middle. He started looking around before pulling a bag out of his coat. As soon as he did, I felt the intense energy that I was told I would feel when I came upon the object I was looking for. I silently swooped down from the tree and tackled the man to the ground. The bag flew out of his hand and five stones tumbled out. All of them were emitting a soft glow but the black one was stronger than the rest. I knew instantly that was the one I wanted. I left the guy on the ground and walked towards the stones.
"Get down!" I heard someone yell from in front of me. I looked up to see he black haired man from before standing in front of me holding some sort of device pointed at me. I took heed of his warning and ducked before a loud pop sounded. I heard the guy behind me scream in pain and I risked looking behind me. He was standing behind me, clutching his shoulder as blood poured through his fingers. He held something that resembled the weapon the other man had with him and it was pointed at me. I swiftly swung my leg to knock him over and as he fell I punched his face. This caused him to fall backwards and hit his head on the ground. I forced the weapon out of his hand and threw it away from the two of us. I made sure that the man was out cold before turning my attention back to the stones that I was looking for. There was a black, yellow, blue, pink, and green gem. The black haired man held them in his hand on top of a cloth but he was staring at me.
"This is what you were looking for?" The man asked as he stared at me. The black gem was still glowing brighter than the others.
"How did you find me?" I asked him as I stepped closer to him. I reached for the glowing gem but he quickly pulled them away from me.
"What do you want with this?" he asked me cautiously.
"I was sent here to get it. I am supposed use it to save my family" I told him withdrawing my hand back to my side. "Our world is threatened by the Queen of Darkness. My brother called her Namonia" I told him as I thought back to what my brother told me.
"The Dark Queen Namonia? If she's back then the universe is in serious trouble. Have you met her?"
"Not personally but one of the people I work with has. I don't know what she is planning but I know it can't be good" I told him. "I need that gem and I need to find a way home to help protect my world." The man stared at me for a long moment before sighing.
"Which one is glowing?" he asked me as he held his hand out again.
"The black one. Can you not see it?" I asked curiously. He shook his head and pushed his hand closer to me. I cautiously grabbed the stone. As I wrapped my fingers around the shining gem, my finger brushed against the blue one. I hissed in pain as the gem burned me. I quickly retracted my hand holding the black gem. It was warm but not burning hot like the blue gem. As I held it in my hand, it transformed from a small circle to the form of a snow leopard.
"You are the only one who can touch it or see it glow. The gems choose their owners. The black gem has chosen you, and since it has, you are the only one who can harness the power of it. You will be the only one who can touch it or see it glow as well." He told me as he started to fold the cloth around the remaining four gems. I helped him fold it as I let the information sink in.
"Where are you from?" the man asked me as he placed the cloth into his pocket.
"Not this world. I come from the Elemental Countries. I came from Iwagakure in Earth Country." I told him as I walked over to the guy who attacked me and checked him over. He was still breathing but he was unconscious. He would probably be out for a while.
"We should probably leave here before he wakes up" I told the man.
"Are you willing to go back to the house? We could really use your help to fight Namonia off. These stones were meant to be used together to protect the world against her." The man said swiftly. I could tell he was desperately trying to get me to help him.
"Do you think there is a chance that she can be defeated here?"
"If we try as a team we can do anything" he told me.
"Alright, it seems like the most logical course of action. My name is Makimi. You can call me Kimi if it makes it any easier." I told him before urging him to start walking.
"I'm Adam" he replied as he started walking in the direction he came from. I followed him to the house I had woken up in silently.
"We use the house as a base of sorts. We are in the final stages of preparing the weapons we are going to use to fight off the invasion." Adam told me as we got close. After a couple of minutes, we arrived at the house and Adam led me in. We entered into the sunny square room I left from earlier.
"This is the living room. Billy over here is setting up our computer system to monitor for attacks. Over this way, is where the TV is set up" Adam stated as he pointed out the two areas. The computer system that Adam mentioned was the corner with the machines I saw earlier. Billy must have been the man I saw over there.
"Down this hall is the infirmary where you woke up." Adam said as he pointed over to the hallway leading to the room that I came out of. Adam continued the tour until we came to a series of hallways with colored doors. Five of the door colors corresponded with the five gems that I saw earlier. We passed the yellow and pink rooms, rounded the corner and passed the green and blue rooms before rounding another corner. We stopped in front of the black door. On the other side of the hallway was the red door.
"This is your room, if you are willing to take it. Mine is right across the hallway." Adam said told me as he opened the door. The interior was painted black and with only one window, the room was fairly dark. There was a bed, wardrobe, and a desk but pretty much the rest of it was empty. I walked in and put the one bag I had with me down.
"I have something to help you control the gem" Adam told me from the doorway.
"There are still four gems left. How are we supposed to fight this witch with only two gems active?" I asked Adam as we walked out into the living room.
"Hopefully they will reveal themselves in time" Adam told me as he handed me a bracelet. "This will help you control the power of the gem to help you fight." I took the bracelet and slipped it on. I placed the gem into the slot and felt another surge of energy pulse through me.
"Hey Billy, meet Kimi. She's got the black gem and she's agreed to help us until she can find a way home."
"That's great" Billy said shortly. Adam and Billy offered their help to get me home so long as I help fight Namonia. I excused myself from the two of them and went back into the room Adam let me borrow. I needed to get a hold of Leader-sama to let him know my intentions. I tried to reach out to him but unfortunately I was unable to get the connection. Rather than dwell on my inability to communicate with the other realm, I unpacked the few items I brought with me. It didn't take me long, so after I was done I started looking through the scrolls that Leader-sama had given me. Adam came in and would randomly give me books to help me assimilate into their society.
"Hey dinner is ready" Adam said as he gave a small knock on the door. I looked up from the scrolls I had out, trying to find a way to make communication. I almost declined but I figured I would get another lecture if I didn't eat. I put the scrolls away quickly and stood up.
"Tomorrow we can send you out with one of our friends to go get new clothes" Adam offered as he led me to the kitchen.
"I have no way to pay for them" I told him softly as I sat down at the table since Adam refused to let me get my own food.
"Don't worry about that!" Adam called from the other room. I sighed knowing that there would be little I could do to pay Adam back for all of his kindness.
"So how do we find the other four chosen ones?" I asked Adam as he handed me a plate of food. I did not recognize the exact foods but I knew that this place would have different food than my own home. I took a cautious bite; finding that it didn't taste bad, I slowly began eating it.
"Honestly, usually the teams are chosen and given their powers all at once. I can only assume that they will appear as we need them" Adam replied as he watched me eat. I was certain that he found my exploration of the unique food amusing.
"So then, what is our next move?" Billy asked as he came into the room. He grabbed a plate of the food and sat down in the chair next to Adam.
"We continue to prepare for the attack. We need the zords to start working and to be tested as soon as possible" Adam told him seriously. I had no idea what a zord was but I figured that Adam would tell me when he needed to.
"What about her?" Billy asked almost hatefully. I simply looked up to Adam who gave a confused look to his friend.
"Kimi is going to research our culture and try to assimilate. I want her to be as comfortable here as she can be until she is able to return home. Until then she is going to help us fight of the invasion," Adam replied immediately afterward.
"So she's useless until the invasion arrives" Billy stated. I decided that I no longer needed to listen to Billy talk so I pushed the almost empty plate away and excused myself from the table. I made my way out of the room and down the hall. I opened the black door that lead to the room that I was given. I picked up one of the books that Adam let me borrow, sat down on the bed, and began to read. After a few hours of reading, Adam came in and sat down on the floor in front of me. It was silent for a few moments while he looked around the bare room.
"I'm sorry for what Billy said. We are very grateful that you are here. Billy is just stressed with all the preparations we are doing." Adam said after he noticed that he had my attention.
"If he wants me to help, I will. I'm a fast learner and I would like to help. I am capable of adapting as I need to." I told Adam softly as I went back to reading.
"And when we need our help we will ask for it. But for now, you assimilating is more important. We don't want you sticking out while in public." Adam told me before getting up and walking to the door.
"I'm not useless Adam. It will only take me a few days to get through these books." I told him before he left. As the night progressed, I finished three of the ten books that I borrowed from Adam.
