AUTHOR'S NOTE: I made a post in my LiveJournal, offering to write drabbles on request. This is one of the resulting ficlets. In this case, Mary asked for a story about Maedhros...a pleasant one, for once. I managed to NOT mention Maglor or Fingon, either. Impressive, eh? ;)
"Two of them...? How can there be two...?!" He stared in shock. It was family tradition for all to be present to greet a new infant, but she'd gone into labor unexpectedly early and the others had not yet arrived and...and there were two, not one...two babies in his mother's lap...
Two babies with red hair just like his own.
Stunned, he heard himself ask, "Do...do they have names yet?"
"No. Does that matter?" Nerdanel smiled tiredly. "Come, hold your new brothers. You have two arms, do you not?"
"I do," Maedhros replied with a dazed laugh, and he did.
