Lucius' Revenge
Lucius Malfoy smiled to himself as he watched his grandchildren run to their mother. Things in his life could not have turned out better if he had planned them this way. He watched his son approach his wife and grimaced for a moment as they kissed. He could not say that he was thrilled that his son had married the youngest Weasley, but the fringe benefits were fabulous. The girl no longer spoke to her family after a huge row that had occurred. It seemed that her family could not accept that she had married and bore Malfoy children. It was a catastrophic loss for her tightknit family and a deafening blow for him against Arthur. At least his grandchildren were purebloods and the boy hadn't rebelled enough to shack up with that mudblood friend of Potter's. Ah yes, Harry Potter, that little bastard had gotten the worst end of the deal. Ginevra had run out of her wedding to the ponce and straight into the arms of his son. Potter of course was never the same after that incident, something Lucius had always relished. The boy quite deserved it for having his better thrown into Azkaban.
Lucius smiled to himself as the children ran round and round their parents, and he stood to go join their family play in the gardens. He leaned more heavily on his cane these days, but that was no matter to him. He was still a distinguished gentleman, a holdover from the grand Victorian times.
As he ambled on, Narcissa joined him, giving him a kiss on his cheek and a look that promised better at a later time. He returned the look with a subtle arching of his eyebrow, managing to make his beautiful wife blush. Life was good he decided as they made their way to the young couple, giving each other open looks of love and totally oblivious to their children running around them. The manor was filled to the brim with love, happiness and family just the way a home should be.
Lucius had his revenge on the world without having to lift a finger.
