The Second Day of Spring, Arkanian Rue
The young boy awoken from his bunk to the sound of sirens sound in the distance. " All junior fighters to the halls of Din!" yelled the captain from the doorway. He then frantically ran to the opposing side of the hall. He yelled again, this time it was inaudible, though. The boy sprang to his feet to be greeted by his neighbor's bunk to the head. Shaking this off, he grabbed for his weapon of choice, his greathammer. He put the weapon aside as he got his armor and readied for a fight. he saw as the other children ran to the halls of Din, a single being standing alone in the back of the room. When his suit was on, and he was ready, he went to the familiar figure to attend to any trouble. As he neared, the young one turned around to face him, his face twisted in a horror unseen by the mightiest of warriors. The young boy saw that his friend knew what was going on, for he somehow knew the goings-on from time to time. The little one has even saved his life a few times. The boy had very accurate premonitions, and was to be trusted. "Durvic, Please don't leave..." the little boy said. Durvic, looked at him, his eyes swollen with the very tears he's seen too often. "You want me to protect you Dorley?" he asked, a little humor in his voice. "No Durvic, I don't want you to leave because... I've seen you die..." he finished.
Durvic stood in shock. Dorley was rarely wrong, and this new news was frightning, especially to a boy of twelve. A loud crash sounded in the back, and the boys glanced too see their captain perish in the explosion. "NO!" yelled Durvic as he ran towards the occurance. He saw a hundred orcs through the hole the blast left, and was furious. Perhaps more furious than he had ever been. The captain had shown a great deal of respect and fatherhood toward the boys, and he was pained to see him go. " Durvic, come back!'' yelled Dorley. Durvic had already followed out of the hole toward the orcs. As he ran, he saw the wizards and warriors of the academy fighting the attackers. He ran in, with his greathammer, and swung at every orc he neared. The warriors tried to get him out of the futile attempt for revenge, but his fury warded all off who dared get in his way. The boy had been in the academy five years, but was arleady ahead of his class, and the masters knew this, but he was still just a child. Durvic swung his hammer, killing multiple orcs at a time. He was killing more orcs than the masters themselves!
In the distance, he spotted the lead orc, the commander. Durvic jumped in the air and landed right behind the oversized orc. He also realized the fifty orcs surrounding him now. He readied himself for a enormous fight. The wizards and warriors tried futily to get to the boy's aid, but there were just too many orcs. Durvic swung as the first three orcs ran at him from behind. They were knocked down with ease. The master swung at his head, and he crouched to the ground as low as he could go. He then took a shortsword from his side, and jabbed it in the orcs right calve, rendering his right leg useless. He then jumped back with his hilt reversed and the hammer head behind him now, and trampled three more orcs, and then turned to face the rest of the orcs. He jumped twenty feet into the air and swung his hammer on the way down. when he landed, a massive jolt caused many nerby orcs to lose their balance and he dropped the hammer momentarily as he took his short sword and ran with the speed of ten cheetah. He arrived back at his spot in time to catch the hammer just before it hit the ground. He looked upon his most recent damage, to see twenty nearby orcs grasping their accilles' heels. His finnesse with a short sword almost rivaled that of his hammer. He the turned to face the commander as he was rushing him. He slid under the commander's legs, the width of the hammer tripping the giant orc. The boy swung the hammer towards the downed foe, but he rolled to the side, dodging the attack. Durvic stood, gathering his strength, as the orc got up. When he did, Durvic threw his hammer with all his might at the orc and grabbed at an item on his belt. The orc ducked, and then smiled with a "you missed me" look on his face. Durvic smiled back, as the hammer came flying back, and decapitated the orc leader. Twenty other orcs now rushed him from behind, and he caught the hammer, the momentum sending him into a backflip. He then landed on one of the orcs, his and the hammer's combined weight crushing it's skull. The suurounding orcs all swung simultaneously, and one mace hit the boy on the arm. Durvic flinched, but went with the momentum of the hit to come back around and fatally wound the foe. The others continued to swing their weapons as he skillfully dodged their attacks. He then jumped high into the air again and came down on two orcs, the rest stumbling as he swung his hammer in a giant circle many times taking down the remaining orcs. He had single handedly slain almost every Orc in the invasion.
