Camping
"So Major what have you go planned for our downtime. Staying here to work on your doohickeys?" Colonel Jack O'Neill asked as he stood in his 2IC's lab.

"Actually no sir." Major Samantha Carter replied.

"No?" He questioned.

"They're at Nellis. So no Naquadah reactor, so I thought I'd go home and put my feet up."

"You mean when we're given leave you're actually going to take it?" He seemed startled. Sam always managed to find some excuse or some little project to work on meaning she stayed at the base.

"Yes sir." Sam smiled. "So are you going fishing again?" She asked knowing whenever they had enough downtime he went to his cabin in Minnesota to fish. He'd stopped asking her a while ago as he always knew she would say no.

"No actually. I'm taking Teal'c and Jonas camping in Rocky Mountains."

"You're going camping?" Sam asked.

"Sure why not. Jonas wants to experience something or other you know how eager he is." Jack explained, he watched his 2IC knowing she wanted to say something. "Go on Carter spit it out."

"Well don't you think we get enough camping with our job. I mean we go through the gate set up tents, eat around a campfire. And sir, with all due respect, you have a little problem with trees."

"Yeah but I think Jonas needs to experience good old American camping complete with junk food instead of MREs and no one having to stay on watch and no possibility of being killed by Jaffa."

"I suppose. Have a good time, I think of you while I'm sat warm in my house."

"I'll take that as a no you don't want to come then." He said turning round.

"I didn't say that sir." Sam quickly interjected.

"Good. We'll pick you up at 0800 in the morning." He said without turning back around. He'd known if he'd baited her enough she would come with them.

"Yes sir." He stopped in the doorway and turned around.

"Oh Major."

"Yes sir?" Sam asked.

"I don't suppose you have a non-military tent we could use?"

"Yes sir."

"Good. I'll see you in the morning."
