Calliope: "We are the Muses; goddesses of the arts and proclaimers of heroes."
Terpsichore: "Heroes like Hercules..."
Thalia: "Honey, they know this already. Stop dragging it on and get to the point."
Clio: "But girl, we need to give a recap of what they last knew."
Melpomene: "Right, in case they forgot how it ended."
Thalia: "Fine. Hercules punched Hades landing him in the pool of souls. Pain and Panic stood and watched as his soul spiraled down deep into the pool. Hercules stayed on earth because of his love for a mortal woman."
Calliope: "Slow down!"
Thalia: "What? That's all they really need to know. Why prolong it by telling the whole story? Besides, the story we are telling today isn't about Hercules and Megara's journey; it's about what happened after all that."
Terpsichore: "As you know, Hades was the ruler of the underworld. That was until Hercules knocked him into the pool of souls. Which of course he deserved."
Melpomene: "Right, but without someone ruling down there and making sure the souls stayed in their places, the underworld became complete chaos. The souls of criminals and evil people were escaping the pool and destroying the city."
Clio: "That's when Zeus and the fates held a secret meeting."
Zeus: "Do you know what you're asking?"
Fates: "We do. We see all."
Zeus: "Although he is my brother, he caused a lot of damage to this city. Not to mention he kidnapped and tried to kill my son!"
Fates: "But without someone ruling the underworld, souls are escaping. Souls that we cut the threads to years ago."
Zeus: "I cannot let him out! Hercules can handle the escaping souls. He is the son of a god! He is a hero!"
Fates: "Hercules may be able to capture the souls, but he cannot return them to the underworld or his thread will surely be cut."
Zeus: "What about Hades' little henchmen? Can't they take over?"
Fates: "They fled after the souls started escaping in fear that Hades would as well."
Zeus: "Can he do that? Can he escape? Well, you are the fates, you know everything; past, present, and future. Does he escape?!"
Fates: "We are not suppose to reveal the future."
Zeus: "But that's why you came isn't it? You know that if I don't release Hades to be the ruler of the underworld, he will escape. But if I do release him...Wait, I've got it! I will release Hades!"
Fates: "Wow, glad you figured that one out."
Zeus: "You three will release Hades and tell him that this is his second chance. I will let him come out as long as he stays in the underworld and keeps the souls in. He may not go above ground at any time or he will return to the pool. Yes, that's it. And do NOT, under any circumstances, tell him that there is no one else to rule. Because if you do, he will know that we cannot return him to the pool and he will run free. Understood?"
Fates: "Under house arrest for eternity, got it."
Terpsichore: "The fates did as they were told; they released Hades from the underworld and told him Zeus' terms."
Hades: "Why exactly did he release me? Not that I'm complaining"
Fate #1: "Because without someone ruling the under..."
Fate #2: "Oh no you don't. We aren't suppose to say anything remember?"
Zeus: "Whoa, ladies. What are you working with Mr. high and mighty now? C'mon, you can tell ol' Hades. He can keep a secret."
Fate #3: "We've already said too much."
Melpomene: "Hades grinned sharply."
