Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters or places in or relating to Harry Potter. They all belong to the queen of all literature, J.K. Rowling. However, if I did own them Ginny and Draco would be together. But that's just me.
a/n: I have know idea where this randomly came from. It was pretty much just a daydream I had after rereading chamber of secrets. This could just be a one shot or it might become the prologue to a story… I just don't know. It depends on the response I get from this. But enough of my rambling. On with the story!
May 1994
Draco's second year
Draco Malfoy was walking down the empty second floor corridor. His father's plan was working. Soon they would finally be rid of all the filthy Mudbloods and Mugglelovers. As he walked along, the memory of the night his father had told him for the plan cam to mind.
'And,' Lucius said, sneering. 'If all goes as planned, the Dark Lord shall rise again!' Draco had only nodded his head in response. He felt paralyzed by this news, but whether it was from joy or fear, he was unsure.
He was coming up to the end of the hallway now, he stopped for a moment and gazed ahead. He could see a small figure not far from where he stood. 'Probably a first year' he thought. 'a Hufflepuff no doubt.' Excited from the prospect of teasing a first year he continued to walk.
"You there!" he called out to them. "First years aren't aloud out this late." Soon he was a few feet from the person and could easily her now. It was the littlest weasley, Ginny. She seemed to be in some kind of trance and she didn't even look up when he spoke.
"Ah, so it's you then." He said smirking. "Best not be getting in to any trouble, it's mess up everything we'd been working so very hard for." He did a complete circle around her, surveying. That's when he noticed the blood. Her hands where dripping with it and he could see the sleeves of her robes were soaked through. Draco gasped at the sight of it. This seemed to have gotten her attention.
Suddenly her head snapped up, her pleading eyes boring deep into his soul.
"Help me…" Ginny whispered. Draco stepped back, frightened. She looked down at her hands in complete horror and then back at him.
"Please…" She begged.
"No!" He said, defiantly. "I'm not part of this! You leave me alone!" At this point he ran, as fast and as far as he could go. And never once did he look back.
