"Thor, son of Odin, God of Thunder, and you're in love with a simple Midgardian girl?" Loki scoffed. Thor just laughed, shaking his head.

"Jane's not a normal girl." he sighed, "Someday you might understand." This made Loki laugh too at the idea of him, a god, in love with some simple woman. Little did he know, he would understand soon enough.

Loki had come to earth with the sole purpose of ruling the humans; however, that wasn't all that happened.

Loki stood before a crowd, his staff in hand.

"Kneel" he demanded, a grin upon his face; none of the puny humans could stop him. With that one word, the group staggered to the ground, lowering their heads to avoid meeting his eyes. Loki sneered maliciously, facing no opposition. Just then a piercing noise broke the silence, causing him to drop the staff and clutch his ears.

"What is that?" he shouted. He looked around, noticing that none of the humans were phased by it.

"Stop it!" he yelled once more, but the earsplitting noise failed to cease. He suffered a few seconds longer until he heard a voice over the incessant noise.

"It won't stop unless you do." said the ghostly voice.

"Who said that? Stop this now!" he demanded again. Several members of the crowd flinched as if it had been silent before he yelled.

"They can't hear it, or this." the voice said calmly, taking great epicaricacy in Loki's struggle. The voice was a woman's; it was cold, yet smooth and eloquent. Loki dropped to his knees from the pain of the noise.

"I'm in your head; there's nothing you can do but surrender." the voice continued, still calm and callous. Loki had no idea what to do. He could barely think with the blaring noise in his head. Finally, he passed out, dropping to the ground before the group of his victims. One by one the people stood up, looking around with complete confusion. Nobody knew what had made the villain fail, except for one person. Behind them all, a woman stood casually leaning against the brick wall of a building, smirking. She walked up confidently, unnoticed by the frantic crowd. She approached the god's body, poking him with her foot to see if he was responsive.

"Hey, Girl! Get away from him! You'll get hurt!" one man from the group commanded, drawing everyone's attention. The lady just smiled spitefully and whispered something incoherent. In seconds both her and Loki had disappeared, leaving the bystanders in awe until their minds cleared, dissipating all memories of the event.
