Jochika Nanabi smiled and signed the note as "Sea-cret Admirer". It was a note to Mako Tsunami, her one-and-only crush. The way he dueled, the way he smiled, even when he just looked over in her direction she melted.
"Hey, sis, what's that? Surely not another note to that Tsunami kid?" Her older sister, Kokoru, swiped her note and laughed outloud. "Oh man, Tsunami don't know how lucky he is. I know I'd do something like this for Kaiba."
"Hey, Kokoru, give it back! I'm probably not even gonna give it to Mako...Too big a chance of rejection..."
Kokoru looked down at Jochika's sad little mug. "Don't you ever, ever let rejection hold you back. Even if Tsunami doesn't like you, word on the street is that that cute little Muto likes you."
"Yugi? Yugi Muto? King of card games?"
"Yeah, that's the one. Wheeler let it slip to me when we had that assembly."
"Well, if Mako turns out not to like me, I'll turn to Yugi."
"That's all anybody asks."

"Valentine! You get back here and duel without cheating!" Kokoru yelled at Mai Valentine, shaking her fist.
Mai snickered. "Nope, sorry, Nanabi. I didn't cheat. I don't have to."
Kokoru growled. "Crap."
Jochika kicked her sister. "Koko! Mai didn't cheat."
"Hey, Jojo. And yes, she did. She can't have won that duel that easily against my precious Dragon/Dark deck."
"Really? I'll prove she didn't. I'll duel you."
"Fine, baby sis."

An hour later, Kokoru's LP was at 100.
"Dark Magician Girl, attack her Life Points directly and win this duel!" Dark Magician Girl loyally attacked, winning Jochika the duel.
"No! I...lost..."
Mai giggled. "Yep, and Kokoru, next time, build a stronger deck."
"Shut up, Valentine..."
"Nope, don't think I will," Mai replied cheekily.

Jochika smiled and slipped her note into Mako's locker.
"Oh, hey, Jochika." Jo startled and bolted, blushing all the way. How long had Mako known she was there? Did he like her or not?
Her thoughts swirling in her head, she walked closer to her locker, before Mako could catch her...or hopefully, see where she went.
"Jo!"
...Too late.
"H-Hey Mako..." she stuttered, her words slurring as a result of her nervousness. She hid her sweaty palms behind her back.
"Why'd you bolt?"
"N-no r-r-reason, I just had to...go tell Yugi I found out where the Rare Hunters were! Yup! Those darn Rare Hunters, heh! I bet Yugi and I can handle 'em, no problem~!"
"Rare Hunters? Oh, okay, well, when you get done with that, maybe we can go hang out?" Mako flashed her the note briefly.
"Oh? Um, sure. Where?"
"Behind the school? Or the park? At sunset, to watch the meteor shower? I know how much you love the stars..."
"Oh, Mako, that sounds perfect! You're absolutely amazing! ...Er, what I meant was...That'd be nice, I love you...I mean I'd love to! Haha, yep, I'd love to!"
"Okay, see ya at seven?"
"Yes," Jochika choked out, barely talking after the "I love you" mishap.
"Cool."

"Wow, Mako, this is so beautiful. It's actually kind of cold, though..."
