"W-What'd you say sweetie?" Wheatley wasn't sure if he'd heard her right. "Did she really just speak?"

"Apple", repeated the six month old girl, and Wheatley gasped. She really had spoken! And her first word was-

Wheatley supressed a smile, of course Sophie's

first word would be "apple". Their screwed up, sarcasm fueled universe wouldn't have it any other way.

Wait! First words! Those were important!

"Chell! Chell, come quick! Sophie said something!"

Chell stopped folding the laundry and came into the kitchen. "Are you sure? It wasn't the radio again?"

Wheatley gestured to their daughter, who was currently eating some kind of mashed up fruit. "Say it again Sophie."

"Apple"

Wheatley snickered. "Sorry, its just- remember when we first met? Back at-"

Oops

Wheatley mentally slapped himself. Chell did not like being reminded of That Place, even if it was a (comparitively) happy memory. What if he had just ruined this precious moment?

After an angonizing ten seconds, Chell started giggling. Giggles turned to outright guffaws, and soon both Chell and Wheatley were laughing hysterically, repeating "apple" in between gasps for air.

Needless to say, it was a very strange morning in Eaden.

End

Fooled you with that opening/summary didn't I?

This was inspired by another Chelley fanfiction I read, Tabula Rasa I think. Wheatley gives Chell an apple pendant for Christmas and is initially scared she'll hate it. It was also (obviously) inspired by Hotel Transylvania 2.
