Author's note: If you think her thoughts are a bit too mature and composed for an 11-year-old, don't forget: she's part Granger.

I saw him on Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
He's weird, I decided. Platinum blonde hair, pale skin, sharp chin. Looks like a shadow.
The boy I was looking at suddenly looked in my direction. His eyes were piercing, but not as much as his expression. He smirked at me and I had to look down.
"Definitely weird," I muttered.
"What's weird?" My little brother, Hugo, piped.
"Shh!" I hissed, looking round at my parents. I had no idea why I felt guilty, but it didn't matter; they were deep in conversation with Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny.
"So that's little Scorpius," I heard my dad say, looking at the boy in question.
Scorpius? Well. Weird name for a weird boy. I drifted off from the adults' conversation, feeling nervous about Hogwarts, my future House, and—something else I couldn't quite place. Suddenly, my dad's voice broke through my thoughts.
"Don't get too friendly with him, though, Rosie," he was saying, as my mum put a palm to her brow, sighing. "Granddad Weasley would never forgive you if you married a pureblood."
I felt my cheeks grow warm and was just about to suggest not being friendly at all when James interrupted with some news about Teddy and Victoire (by the way, I had known about those two ages ago! James is a little late on the uptake, isn't he? But I guess that's what you get if you're a boy. They're always slow). My cousin may be a dweeb most of the time, but I made a mental note to thank him later.
I chanced another glance at Scorpius—just to see what I was up against of course, I heard my dad mention he might be a bit of a challenge on tests and things—but he caught me looking and smirked again. I stuck my tongue out at him in response and looked away.
Friendly? Please.

A chapter on Ron and Hermione next soon, I think, if I see this project gets enough interest. So... please review!
