It had been a long week of Order work and Remus was just glad to be able to spend some time back at Grimmauld Place. Plus, he felt bad for always going out when Sirius was not allowed to. But right now he was just exhausted. As he lay in bed with his eyes closed, he could hear the sounds of Sirius getting ready for bed around him. He chose to ignore him in favor of trying to get to sleep, but cracked his eyes open again when he felt the bed sink near him.
Sirius was kneeling over him, straddling his body and he was stuck looking up into a face that grinned back at him with happy, scheming eyes. Remus smiled: this was another reason for wanting to stay at the house. He ran his fingers up through Sirius' long hair.
"You know, love, you should really cut your hair."
Out like a candle, the romance of the moment vanished and Sirius plopped himself down, sitting on Remus' stomach, and cocked his head to the side. "What?"
Remus laughed. It's really not a coincidence that Sirius turns into a dog.
"What? What's so funny?" asked the so-called 'dog'.
"You really are a dog, aren't you?" Remus patted him affectionately.
This got Sirius grinning again. He grabbed Remus' shirt collar in his teeth and pulled on it, growling playfully. Between the warm weight on his chest and the tug-of-war on his collar, Remus could've sworn he saw a tail wagging behind Padfoot.
Sirius chuckled and nuzzled his neck. "And you don't like your dogs big and hairy?"
"No. It's just that I can't see your face anymore. You're just a big mane of hair walking around."
"Aw, don't worry." Sirius laughed. "I can just tie it up. Heck, I could braid it—or better yet, pigtails!"
It didn't really bother Remus that there was a little too much excitement in his voice for normal sarcasm. But would go with it.
"Pigtails, huh?" He smirked, pulling Sirius down, and kissed his lover. "But that would make you seem gay."
