Mitchell fumbled with the grips on his suit. This new model was uncomfortable. Too clumsy and too big. The one thing he liked about it was its power. Behind him in his locker, the old Volume 2 exo-suit lay lifeless and dusty. It hadn't been used in months, since the small war and the proceeding clean up.

This new suit he hated, but it easily overpowered the old one. If a full burst was used, it could propel him up to about 50 feet into the air. Volume 2 could barely clear a large truck. For safety purposes the new model, which hadn't been named yet because they were technically still testing it, had a hook-like device on each side in case coming back down was too dangerous. It would bury itself into solid material up to the strength of steel.

Mitchell began running the course, clearing every obstacle at lightning speed and only just. The other 9 people in the room looked on astonished, not believing this new recruit was so skilled. Little did they know, he had done this far longer than they. Wow this amazing speed and power. It responded instantly to his movements, and changed directions faster than he could. His leg exploded in pain and he hit the next obstacle ahead with great force, flipped over it, and slammed into the floor with a thud.

"So what happened again?" asked the nurse. She shifted her weight onto her left side and spun the other way to face her computer. She started to put in information about him.

"I stopped focusing on my movements while testing the new model of exo, in room 13." As he said this, a little eye shaped round object came out of the ceiling and scanned him up and down. She spun back around, got up and grabbed a tool of some sort next to his seat. She pricked him with a needle and stuck it into the thing, which just barely fit it. It beeped and gave out a reading. She told him to take the day off, and to be more careful.

He left quickly and called in his personal one seat copter. It arrived in a few minutes and he punched in coordinates for Seattle. The glass doors slid shut and locked, and he drifted off to sleep.
