Hello everyone! God, it's been a long time since I last posted here. Let me tell you guys something, my PC was messed up for the longest time but now it's fixed so I should be good to go. Anyways, this story is based around the song "Just Like You" by Three Days Grace, my favorite band. It is NOT a songfic. Without further ado, let's get in the story...

An 18 years old blue cat sat in his bedroom in his new house.

Gumball was thinking about his mother and what made him move here.

Nicole was a winner, and overachiever and she couldn't stand losing. However, her eldest son was not like that.

So she was always pushing him to be better, to achieve a lot more, but Gumball wasn't complying.

It made her angry. Her son was a slacker and a slob. All he wanted to do was waste his time with trivial matters.

The night before he moved, Gumball and Nicole were arguing about it.

At one point, the former pierced Nicole's armor with an answer that took her by surprise.

"Why don't you want to be a success in life?!"

A moment of silence...

"I don't want to be like you..."

And that was the end of their loving relationship, and quite possibly the last time they'll ever see each other.

As for his brother, sister and father, they weren't around to support neither parties.

Now every time one of the three mentions Gumball, he's ignored by Nicole.

And the same could be said for the blue kitten.

So there he was, forced to move to new house and live alone.

But Gumball genuinely believed this was his chance to start anew.

Now he reflected on Nicole's other traits that he would've got if he followed her footsteps.

She was mean, she was angry.

He wouldn't wanna be like that.

She was fake, she was stupid.

He wouldn't wanna be like that.

She was cold, she was ruthless.

He wouldn't wanna be like that.

She was weak, she was senseless.

He wouldn't wanna be like that.

She was just like her parents...

He's not gonna be as weak as she was...

She thought she was standing beside him. In reality, she was in his way.

She thought she was guiding him. In reality, she was in his way.

His way to be himself.

She's wrong, dead wrong if she thinks he'll be just like her...

He could be, but he won't be...

And that's why he moved. He couldn't stand living with her for the last 6 years.

Where did the fun they had 6 years ago gone to?

It would appear that, no world can stay amazing forever.

If he's alone, on his own she can't control him...

He won't turn out...

Just like her...

"Nicole Watterson, you're wrong if you think that I'll be just like you".

And with that, he got ready to go to bed.

Perhaps tomorrow, the sun will shine again...
