Me: A one shot. My second.

Alyssa: Kewlness. Your second one shot.

Me: It might become a one shot.

Alyssa: Just might.

Me: Well, this is Rukani and Kenta, and I now realize I should probably make a profile for Rukani and post it on my profile. AND I WILL.....just not now. OKAY. I OWN NOTHING EXCEPT RUKANI AKEMINATSU KOUKIAMITSA AND THE IDEA.

Both: PLAY BUTTON PUSHING TIME~ (Wow, been a while since that's been said.)

"You know…" Rukani Akeminatsu Koukiamitsa started, sitting against a tree.

It was a fall day, and although school had already started, it was hot. Way too hot for fall. Yet even through going to the first grade, the multi-hair-colored girl was still relaxed. Well, for the most part.

"What?" Her best friend since before she knew, Kenta Kitagawa looked over at her. His six year old eyes blinked behind glasses. His dark hair, which to Rukani looked like a dark sea green, was messed with by the wind.

"….It's my birthday soon." This was not an unknown fact to Kenta. He would never forget his best friend's birthday! Unlike someone the two know…

"I know. Why would I forget? I'm not Kazu you know." He laughed, and she laughed with him. But soon he stopped and blinked. "You do know that, right?"

"Of course! It's just…." Rukani paused, trying to find the words. Given her limited vocabulary, she sighed. "I think everyone forgot."

"No. That's not possible. I didn't forget." There was a silence. "I count as somebody right?"

"Of course Kenta!" She waved her hands in the air like a surrender, of like she was trying to cover something up.

"Uh huh. Yeah. Okay. Wouldn't your parents have remembered too?"

"I'm serious." After a minute, laughter was heard. Rukani barely got out an "I guess." To respond to Kenta's second question. Adultslooked around and smiled, remembering when they laughed like that. Teenagers looked around, slightly annoyed as to what it was. Elderly citizens smiled and began telling some fascinating (and some not) stories to the kids that had to show them around.

"Will you promise me something Kent?" Rukani questioned, using her nickname for him.

"Of course Akeminatsu." Kenta himself had a nickname for her, her middle name. Along with Rani. Rukani didn't know what her middle name meant, but Kenta did. He had asked a few weeks ago if he had a middle name ("No."), which led to "What does Rani's middle name mean?" He got his answer.

Akeminatsu means bright, beautiful summer.

Kenta found it strange. After all, his friend was born in the fall, not summer. November fourth to be exact. Just then he realized she began talking.

"Promise me you'll never forget."

"Forget what?"

"My birthday, name, face. Pretty much me."

"Okay. I promise. But on one thing."

"What's that?"

"You won't forget me either."

"I promise." And with that, they connected pinkies and shook once.

Just then, the two first graders could hear some calls that sounded much like their names. They smiled and each rushed to two figures. Their parents.

"Come on now! It's time to prepare for Rani's birthday!"

Kenta looked at his friend and beamed. Told you! He mouthed.

Rukani smiled but rolled her eyes. Yeah, yeah I know.

Alyssa: Kinda pointless.

Me: That's what I WANT you to think.

Alyssa: Huh?

Me: It'll tie in with another one of my stories. That has yet to be published. ^^

Alyssa: Okay. REVIEW EVERYONE~
