Raito knew he was doing the right thing. Killing all the bad people that befoul his world, and removing them, making his world a utopia of beauty and happiness.
But when Ryuuzaki voiced his opinion on what Kira was doing, he got a different perspective.
"I know why Kira is doing this." L said softly, making a tall, teetering tower of sugar cubes, sitting in his usual, unusual way, at the same computer table as Raito.
"Why? Why is he killing all these people?" Mogi asked urgently.
"He wants to make the world a good place. A place without killers, rapists, sinners in general..." L paused, "and that includes murderers."
Raito's hands paused in their act of typing.
"He is a murderer. A sinner. He might not see it like that, but he is." L paused, glancing at Raito, who was staring at his computer screen, completely frozen. "He kills to make the world a better place, but he will not be able to live in that utopia. He is a sinner. He will befoul that world again. He can create the world, but he can't live there. He--"
WHAM
L's sugar cube tower teetered dangerously, then fell, sending a waterfall of small, sparkling white cubes over the tabletop and onto the floor.
L's eyes were fixed on Raito's fist, which had been sent, rather hard, against the tabletop they were sitting at.
"Are you okay, Raito-kun?" questioned Mogi urgently.
The golden-brown haired boy was silent, then, suddenly, he stood, towering over L.
"Not feeling well." Raito said shortly, turning on his heel and walking out of the room.
L watched Raito silently, with a saddened look upon his face.
"Ryuuzaki?" Mogi questioned, turning to the detective.
L turned away, curling his arms around his knees and burying his face in them, hiding the pearls of salty water in the edges of his large eyes.
Mogi looked down, staring at the forgotten sugar cubes scattered on the floor.
((END. poor L-chan. he's figuring out that maybe Raito is Kira, and that his best friend is trying to kill him. d'aaawwww! L needs a hug! ... anyway, thank you for reading!))
