She could have had everything.
If only that had been what she desired.
The old days seemed so far away now. A different time. A different place. A different world. A world without cares or suffering, where no child ever went hungry. A world where no one would ever turn her away. A world where she had everything.
A perfect world.
And yet she threw it all away with a smile on her face.
Why? Nobody understood why. How could they? To dream of perfection was one thing, a common thing; a thing that everyone could understand.
But to give up perfection for dreams…Some said she was a fool. Only fools lived for dreams, after all. And yet she did not seem foolish.
Some wondered why she was so willing to give up so much for so little. Surely she regretted her impetuousness? And yet those lavender eyes harbored no regrets, only a glimmer of hope.
Some saw her circumstances as a tragedy. What else could you call an outcast, burdened with a child that only a mother could love? But Izayoi saw no tragedy; her spirit felt no loss.
Their loss was her gain.
Their foolishness was her wisdom.
Their shame was her strength.
Her child was her hope.
Sheer foolishness. But what did Izayoi care?
Her foolishness was the wisest thing she knew.
Remember, constructive criticism is always welcome.
