this was actually prompted by one of my best friends and I talking about if johnlock had a baby, and Sherlock not knowing what to do with a crying baby. enjoy.
The child in his arms began to wail loudly. Sherlock held it, and put his face near to the small head peeping out from the blankets. It had been a week since John and Sherlock brought home their new son. The latter frowned slightly.
"John, why is it crying? Is it broken?" The taller man said, still squinting at the small, screaming bundle in his arms.
John sighed, and moved as though to take the child from Sherlock, but Sherlock merely pulled the child closer to him. "Just tell me what to do. I'd like to help." He said, not once taking his eyes from the bundle.
John smiled slightly, as he returned with the baby's bottle. "Hold that to his mouth, and he'll drink. Just make sure you don't take the bottle away before he's done, okay?" Sherlock nodded once, and took the bottle from John, not looking up once from the newborn boy.
John sat back down in his armchair, and looked on, as Sherlock began to rock the baby very gently, murmuring under his breath. Suddenly, a smile, much like the one John had given when Sherlock finally agreed to adoption, appeared on his face, and a low chuckle escaped him. John had never seen a more beautiful sight; the man he loved, with the baby he'd always longed for.
John placed his head on Sherlock's shoulder, and leaned his head against his husband's. He closed his eyes. "I love you so, so much." he sighed into Sherlock's neck, before placing a light kiss on his cheekbone. Sherlock looked up, and his eyes were shining with happiness - a contentedness usually only achieved by the strike of a serial killer. "I love both of my boys, far more than I could say."
as always, reviews are much appreciated :)
