a/n : so first off, I can't believe this series isn't on fanfiction! But here it goes anyhow:
A Modern Juliet
{A Kevin and Sadie series fanfiction}
To Joanne, Emily, Emily, Emma and Emma.
I'm sorry we can't all be Kevins and Sadies.
;
Sadie looked out the window into London, a whole other world.
She definitely wasn't in Belfast anymore; there was a noticeable
lack of Union Jacks and Tricolours fighting for prominence, hardly
a mural to be seen.
Most noticeably though was the lack of gasps and exclamations
when she and Kevin walked down the street.
'Is that Sadie Jackson over there with that... oh my'
It would take a while for it to sink in.
No one would die for befriending them this time
It didn't matter though, even though she loved Kevin
loved the freedom the release of secrecy, she missed
home; Belfast; Norn Iron.
This was just running away.
Not facing her troubles
In essence this was her sleeping potion and she suddenly regretted
her scorn of Juliet; maybe she hadn't been so weak after all.
Just misguided.
Maybe she was misguided.
Would this work?
Or was she clinging on to something fragile.
If someone had of told her this would be her life when she was ten
she would've laughed in their face and told them they were daft.
Was she daft?
Sadie looked out the window.
Choosing between love and blood is never easy.
She loved Kevin but doubts and old wives' tales crept into her head
every now and often, she had to tell herself they weren't true; then wonder
if they were.
A whole of teaching can't be wiped away, no matter how much love you have
Sadie loved Kevin
but today, today most of all she wished she'd never met him
Wished he had never turned her life upside down
Wished she could be the girl she was always meant to be
Wished that she could be at home for
the Twelfth day of July.
