Just For Show

"I won't leave you. That's a promise."

The intense gaze of a young man pierced through the heart of a beautiful lady. Their faces were illuminated by the moonlight, and the breeze of the night air chilled their skins and kept their hair messy. But it didn't matter.

They were together.

Lost in each other's gazes, both of them leaned in.

Their lips were going to touch. She braced herself for the forthcoming contact, closed her cerulean orbs and waited. She felt his breath on her mouth as he held her face in place.

At the right moment, they shared a kiss.

It was the most wonderful feeling for her and she would trade anything to make the feeling last forever. If only it could last forever…

"Cut! Good take! Let's take a break. After that, we'll shoot scene 42."

She missed the contact. The feel of his lips on hers, the way he held her, the sound of his voice when he talked to her. She wished they were all real, all for her to feel, but who was she kidding?

Reality hit her. It was like she was deprived of gravity to feel his warm touch for a few minutes then it came back rapidly that she had to hit the solid ground and shatter her heart to pieces.

Juvia forgot. They were never together. Gray was not interested. They both played characters different from who they were. She was just given a role of a sappy, hopeless romantic young lady. They were just portraying a story – a fictional story that was only made up by someone. The story wasn't theirs to own. The love wasn't theirs, too. In fact, it wasn't there to begin with.

Juvia forgot. Juvia should always remember their situation.

They were actors, playing roles far from their personalities. No matter how much she wanted their relationship to evolve, no matter how much she wanted to express her affection, no matter how much she adored Gray Fullbuster, she may not. She should keep it in her mind and her heart. Juvia should prioritize her work than to prioritize her fantasies.

Everything they do was for the entertainment of other people.

Everything was just for show.

End.

A little drabble I can't stop thinking about during my school break. This was inspired by a song. Thanks for reading!
