Who Will It Be?
" He killed her."
"Yes"
" And so he must die."
" Is more killing really the answer?"
" Just one more death and then I will be satisfied," answered the silver tabby. He spoke calmly but his hands were shaking.
Old Deuteronomy sighed.
" She never did anything to disserve this," Said Munkustrap mostly to himself.
" No," Said Old Deuteronomy
" Nothing." Munkustrap said looking at her favorite resting spot, the old drain pipe.
He turned his hollow gaze to Old Deuteronomy.
" I loved her. I mean I still love her. And he, Macavity, had no right to kill. no right.
" I know. She was a lovely queen. A lovely queen."
" She was so, so. Oh Old Deuteronomy."
He finally broke down and sobbed.
Old Deuteronomy hugged his son for what seemed like an eternity before Munkustrap spoke.
" It's so hard to believe that. Someone who was so. I can't believe Demeter's gone.
