" Just one more death and then I will be satisfied," answered the silver tabby. He spoke calmly but his hands were shaking.

Old Deuteronomy sighed.

" She never did anything to disserve this," Said Munkustrap mostly to himself.

" No," Said Old Deuteronomy

" Nothing." Munkustrap said looking at her favorite resting spot, the old drain pipe.

He turned his hollow gaze to Old Deuteronomy.

" I loved her. I mean I still love her. And he, Macavity, had no right to kill. no right.

" I know. She was a lovely queen. A lovely queen."

" She was so, so. Oh Old Deuteronomy."

He finally broke down and sobbed.

Old Deuteronomy hugged his son for what seemed like an eternity before Munkustrap spoke.

" It's so hard to believe that. Someone who was so. I can't believe Demeter's gone.
