Draco lies awake, staring at the wall in silence. He's used to this by now – the inability to sleep. Sometimes, the arm wrapped around his waist would lull him into a dreamless sleep. But the other nights, he usually would lay awake as the memories dominate his mind.

Tonight, though, he just finds himself wondering how he got here, wrapped in the arms of his former archenemy. Because somewhere along the way, Draco actually realized that Harry wasn't as bad as he originally thought. And that should scare Draco, because seeing him in this good light nullifies all his childhood lessons. But somehow, it really doesn't scare him anymore.

"What's wrong?"

The question startles Draco slightly, even though he doesn't show it, since he hadn't been aware that Harry is actually awake.

Draco shakes his head. "Nothing. Go back to sleep," he replies shortly, because Draco doesn't want to burden Harry with his musings.

He curls up closer to Draco and whispers, "Do you need a sleeping draught?"

"No. I'm fine. You should go back to sleep," he says. "You have work in the morning."

For a while, Draco allows his mind to go completely blank, and lets himself just listen to Harry as his breathing evens out, falling back to sleep. And it's then that Draco realizes that he actually needs him.

Draco needs him because Harry understands everything and still doesn't judge. He understands the lifestyle that Draco lived. And Harry doesn't allow Draco's past mistakes to affect this, what they have, because Draco learned his lesson and grew from it. Draco became a better person and that's all that really matters in the end.
