I'd been meeting her in meeting her in secret for, well, year now. In coffee shops, and parks and sometimes her apartment. Met her kids a couple times. And she has met mine. Ginny would kill me if she found out. She'd be utterly furious, that not only had I been sneaking at least once every month for the past year to meet up with another woman, but I had lied to her too. But I kept meeting up with Jo anyway.
Today was the last one. Last meeting before I came clean. Not just to Ginny but to everyone Jo and I had agreed it was for the best.
"Harry, I thought you said you had a day off." Ginny grumbled as I got out of bed.
"Just going to the store." I kissed her and heard her sigh.
"Be quick."
I got dressed quickly, and apparated to a dark alley. Hopefully no Muggles saw. Yeah, Jo was a Muggle. But I didn't care. And yes she know about my magic. Once I accidentally apparated in front of her and she had to know what it meant. I couldn't bring myself to erase her memory.
I found in her-our- favourite café. It's where we met. I had to get away for the publicity and ran straight into a young blonde woman spilling her coffee all over her. Where it starts should be where it ends. Ha, that sounds so familiar. But I very much doubted that this was the last time I'd ever see her. But last time without the Weasley's knowing.
"Harry, hello." The pretty blonde came up and kissed my cheek.
"Hey, Jo. So how did go?" I was asking about her work, she had recently applied for a new career. Actually she had tried several times, and was begining to lose hope.
"Bloody brilliant. They loved it. Ate it up completely. And they agreed to do it." She was blissfully happy. I was happy for her.
"Of course it was a success. Did you ever believe anything else?" I smiled.
"But you're still going to tell Ginny?" She didn't sound upset, just curious. "How do you think she'll react."
"Hurt and frustrated. But she will understand."
"I don't know why you're keeping it a secret. It's not as though we're doing anything horrible. Are we?" Her eyebrows burrowed together.
"I don't know. It's just confusing. I ought to be going soon." I stood up.
"Look Harry, owl me or call me or whatever, if you want to meet up again." She smiled timidly.
"Of course I want to meet up again. Still got loads to tell you, don't I?"
She giggled. "Well, goodbye Harry,"
"See you soon Jo."
I was right. Ginny was so angry. I felt terrible. As I should. But Ginny understood. Strangely, so did every one else.
A few weeks later a got a parcel from Jo. It was a book. Before I looked at it I read the note.
Hi Harry
It out. Finally. I'm so happy, but we still need to talk. How is Ginny?
Love from your official Muggle biographer
Jo
In my hands was a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone by my dear friend Jo.
I had a little laugh to myself, not knowing the what awaited afterward.
So… what do you think. I know it's a little weird. But I hope you like it. Review please. My first story. Sorry if the facts are wrong this is purely a story written on a whim. I don't own this. But maybe neither does J.K. I'm kidding.
With my affection
Elma
