Moments

He was standing close to her. So close their arms were touching. Part of her brain asked if it was to close. But she ignored the urge to step back.

He looked down at her and said, "Good job."

"Thanks," she whispered. Why couldn't she talk louder than that? Was she breathless? No. She couldn't be. Her brain told her there was no way. Her heart said otherwise.

And they stood there for what seemed like eternity, him looking down at her, while she was looking up at him. As cliche as it was, they were staring into each other's eyes. And something was happening. Her heart was racing, she wasn't able to look away, and suddenly she wanted to reach out and hug him. Or do something even more insane.

This had never happened before. But as she stepped away, her heart still going a zillion miles an hour, she realized something. Two things. First, she just beat him at sword fighting. That had never happened before. Ever.

Second, she, Katie Gardener, had just had a moment with Travis Stoll.

AN: Please do not review and tell me that it is too short. It is a drabble and it is only a moment between them. Moments are not long.

Also, this is different from anything else I have written, so I'm not quite sure how it turned out. I don't usually write this dramatically. Thanks for reading!
