Rose Tyler – My Last Kiss
I fell back onto a pair of strong arms and everything faded away.
Sometime later I awoke on the floor of the Tardis. I looked up and saw the Doctor at the controls. It was weird. I couldn't remember a thing. I voiced this to the Doctor and he looked at me skeptically. I shook my head slowly. Tiny details started to bleed through into my mind. A big yellow truck, the Tardis, a bright, blinding light, the Daleks dying and the Doctor… I shook my head again, unable to remember the finish.
"Dogs with no noses…" The Doctor babbled on. I ignored him and tried to remember. Then everything hit me.
The Daleks exploding into gold. Me shining with a golden light. Burning. Bad wolf. Something possessing me. The light in the heart of the Tardis. The Doctor, chastising me. Scattered words. Jack coming back to life. …all that is, all that was, all that ever could be…doesn't it drive you mad? I think you need a Doctor. And the Doctor bending down, ever so carefully to caress my lips with his own.
"Doctor." I said sharply, interrupting his rant on something. "What happened? Tell me." His smile immediately dropped from his face. He knew that we both knew the answer to that question. Slowly he began to speak.
"You destroyed the Daleks." He said, gulping as I stood up and stepped across the Tardis towards him.
"And?" I tempted, continuing my walk towards him.
"I…I…I." He stumbled. I finally reached the point where he was standing.
"You kissed me." I said.
"I had to! Otherwise you would've died." I shook my head and reached out to caress his cheek.
"I love you." I said steadily before I kissed him, his warm lips were soft and surprisingly I did not meet any resistance. Instead his warm arms wrapped around me for a few precious moments before the Doctor slowly let go of me. When he looked back at me his grey, emotionless eyes were full of new emotion. An emotion I'd never seen in them before. Love.
"I love you. And Rose Tyler. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. But there's nothing I can do. Before I go, I just want to say, you were fantastic. And you know what? So was I?"
I looked at him in utter confusion and that was the last time I heard his beautiful Northern accent before he exploded into a golden light and changed into a stranger.
