Sonic Next Gen
Chapter one: First Assault
The chopper soared through the skies at blistering speeds, headed for the destination of the commotion. Apparently, a robot was attacking Central Square of Endreon City and people were, possibly, going to die. But, as usual, the Team was known for quick reaction times. But these weren't the normal members coming. They were personal members sent by the leader himself. As the plane neared the square, the doors slid open and the interior vented in a rush of roaring wind. The three figures in the hold sat steady as the wind slammed their senses and winded them. But they didn't flinch. The pilot finally put the plain into a slow glide over the square and called back to them.
"Hey you all can drop now!" He shouted over the wind. As the hold reached equilibrium, the figures unhooked there belts and rose. One stood taller than the others and went straight to the open door, looking down at the clouds. He could just barely see the robot beneath. Saucer shaped with tentacles all around, it swung its massive arms at building, crushing them on impact. It had pincers at the end of each tentacle to help with mobility and to grab citizens and fling them across the square. What made things worse was that there were three of them. The figure that looked out had a stoic look on his face and prepared to jump. Suddenly, one of his companions called out.
"Axel!" Ace shouted, grabbing his brother. "It's my turn to go out!" he exclaimed, playfully hitting the bristles of his head.
"Little brother, you do realize we have an order labeled out by dad," Axel replied to his younger brother. "Not to mention I'm the oldest so naturally I have to go out to check things out."
"But-"Ace began but was soon caught off by the youngest member of the group.
"Hush Ace,' Alice said, brushing the pink bristles out her eyes. "Let him go and follow the pattern. Maybe dad will put you as first jump man next time." She rubbed her arm and straightened out her skirt, brushing a few bits of dust of her jeans.
Axel nodded in approval and looked out the window. He made sure both of his katana were on there respective holster connected to the belt on his jeans. He scratched his slightly firry and bristly chest before stuffing his hands in his trench coat pocket. He leaned forward and let himself completely fall off. Ace rushed to the door and looked down, straightening his shades and his fingerless gloves. His trench coat billowed as he kneeled down over the edge and waited for the signal.
"I better get my chance next time." He said and looked at his sister, mildly pissed that she had agreed with Axels' logic.
As the hedgehog plummeted through the air, he held a stern look on his face. He focused intently on how his timing would be and when he needed to release the blades, the giant robot looming ever closer. He saw the point of his impact and flipped right side up, preparing both blades for release. As his feet slammed into the machine, he released the blades, leaned forward and sliced down. His initial impact had already started the cratering of the creature. The blade increased the speed of it. Within exactly 1.5 seconds of his impact, he was below the machine which now had a gaping hole in it. As it exploded just above him, he rushed forward at blinding speed towards the next one. He leaped forward, curving just above one of the other machines and glinting the sun off his blade.
Ace saw the signal and grinned. "Okay let's go. Pick us up when you see them all destroyed Tails." He said as he and Alice jumped out the plane. Tails nodded and kept the plane going, having it circle the general area before landing in an empty parking lot close by. Thank goodness it was a small personal pain with just enough room for them all.
