"What service do you need?" The operator asked.

"Ambulance, I need an ambulance." A girl told them quickly. "Probably the fire service too."

"What's happened?" The operator asked gently, sensing the panic in the woman's voice.

"I'm not sure, I was walking my dog and the roof of one of the buildings fell in. I don't know if there's anyone in it but it's 10pm so there probably is."

"Okay and where are you?"

"I'm on Manford Orchard I think."

"Okay, someone will be out as soon as they can, in the meantime can you stay where you are?"

"Okay."

"Urgh." Came a moan from inside the house.

"Can anyone hear me?" A man from the ambulance service asked.

"Help." Came the quiet whisper from near the front door of the house.

"I'm going to get you out of here, stay calm. My name is Henry..."

"Get back mate, it's not stable." Someone from the fire service shouted and immediately Henry ran back and just in time as more debris landed on top of the woman who had previously been conscious.

"Can you hear me?" Henry's voice came again, and this time he was met with no response, no acknowledgement that he'd spoken. "I need to get in there Dale." He spoke to man who had previously told him to get back.

"We aren't sure it's safe yet mate."

"I'll wear a helmet then."

He crawled into the house and immediately turned the torch he had on, there were areas where the roof was still standing but they were few. He walked around a little, being careful as to where he stood and looking for any signs of life as he did. That was until he saw a hand sticking out from under a massive piece of debris. "I need some help in here." He called as he set about removing bits of the roof off of the top of the woman.

"I have a trolley."

"She's breathing, her heart rate is erratic but she's alive. I suspect several broken ribs though and probably internal damage."

"We need to get her into the ED then."

"Does she live alone?" A woman from the fire service asked a neighbour.

"Yeah, is she okay?"

"We'll know more when we get her into hospital. Do you know her name?"

"Zoe, Zoe Hanna."

A/N Basically I know that this first chapter was awful but it needed to be written this way, the next chapters will be in a different style and will hopefully be a lot better.
