This is a bit random, i think i was listening to Desert Rose by Sting when i wrote this. i was kind of upset with the way the series ended obviously, but tell me what you think. i might use it for a story i'm working on.

First there was water. Cold, merciless water. Emotionless, relentless, and unforgiving. The water embraced and filled me, I breathed it, I drank it like bitter wine. Darkness invaded every one of my senses, not a star glimmered above. I was drowning, but I would not die.

I wanted to get out, I needed to get out. My limbs were stiff from the cold, and I was longing for something I could not define.

And once I could take it no more, when the water became so unbearable I screamed. Bubbles escaped my mouth and the water around me vibrated with my unleashed emotions.

Then there was light.

I could not tell where it came from, it seemed to come from all around me, and yet I still floated in the darkness. I moved to the edge, mixed fear and wonder made me tremble, there was a barrier, there was always a barrier. I went to the edge, but feared to cross into a world I did not know.

But then I could see him. In the light he was a dark silhouette with eyes that glowed like warm coals. He stretched out a hand, and breached the barrier.

Clouds rose from his skin and the water around me boiled. He touched my wrist, gently and firmly.

Water became flame, and flame water.

He did not have to pull, I went to him willingly.

My arms wrapped around his neck, his around my waist. Our lips connected and the steam became intoxicating. I needed him, our lips melded like hot metal, and his tongue was cool against mine.

I felt down the fevered skin of his back which covered hard rippling muscle, and only now did I notice we both were naked in each other's arms. His touch was gentle yet insistent. Mine cautious and longing.

He moved his ardent lips down to my jaw and licked my arteries with his cool tongue. I clutched his hair as I gasped in surprise, feeling hot sweat near his scalp soak my fingers.

"Don't," he whispered harshly as he moved up to my ear which he nipped delicately, "Don't forget about me."

I awoke with a loud gasp, the furs falling away from my naked body which was then savagely attacked by the frigid polar air. beside me Aang sat up cautiously, his gray eyes clouded with concern.

"Katara, are you ok?"
