A/N: A short little drabble dedicated to the newcomer Roy, who is back from Super Smash Bros. Melee. I'm super happy that he's back! :D
Also, this is yaoi. You've been warned.
Disclaimer: I don't own SSB nor any references to the Fire Emblem franchise. Simple as that.
Azure Skies and Scarlet Winds
Marth was lonely. Lonelier than normal. He stared out the window of his room, head on his hand, looking out toward the summer skies as the sun beamed down from above. Below, Peach was tending her... well, peaches, with Zelda.
It had been almost ten years. Ten whole years without the one he knew and loved. Ever since he left the Smash Mansion, he waited for his return. He would look out that very same window in his room every sun up and every sun down, waiting for what seemed like hours. Sometimes it would get so bad he wouldn't eat.
Some people called him crazy that he had been waiting for so long, and that Marth should stop, that he was lovesick and delusional. But no matter what they said, the Altean prince ignored them.
He missed him.
He missed Roy.
Marth closed his eyes as the tears threatened to leave, but he wouldn't let them. He was stronger than this. He knew that Roy wouldn't like it if he started crying. But the heartbreak was stronger than his will to keep watching, to keep believing that the red head lord would come back.
And it was decreasing with each passing day.
The warm summer winds brushed against his face, and it reminded him about the warmth from Roy's lips every time they kissed. Those soft lips that tasted like the peaches that grew in Peach's garden, and his blood red hair felt as soft as silk and smooth as a rushing river.
The memories were fresh, like it was yesterday, when Roy had to leave the Smash Mansion due to the lack of space. Marth was grief stricken. He remembered hugging him tightly, not wanting to let him go, not wanting him to leave. He remembered almost crying because of it. He remembered how Roy tried to comfort him, to say that he would come back one day.
"I promise, Marth. I will come back one day." Roy had said. "And when I do, I'll be better than ever before. Heck, I may even be better than you!"
"I hope so. I can't wait until that day comes."
Marth felt a tear run down his eye at that, sparkling in the sunlight.
All the Altean prince could do was watch and wait.
However, today he would find he wouldn't have to wait long. And inwardly in his gut, his instinct were telling him that.
A ghost of a smile graced his lips then.
A figure stepped onto the path that would lead directly to the Smash Mansion. Navy blue eyes looked out onto the mansion, rapier's hilt glinting in the shine. A smile made its way across the young man's face.
How long had it been since he last came here? It seemed like eternity. No matter. He was here.
Here to stay with the one he loved.
He looked to the clear sky, blue as his lover's hair. He reached a hand outwards to it, as if to grasp it.
As if he could grasp Marth's hair.
"Roy, promise me you'll return," murmured the distraught prince.
"I promise, Marth. I will come back one day," the red haired lord replied.
"And a promise I will keep," Roy said aloud, and raced forward to the mansion.
The scarlet winds had returned to the azure skies once again.
A/N: Sorry if it seems that the ending is a bit eh, but I couldn't think of any other way to end it without it sounding awfully cliche. Besides, it's been a while since I typed anything on here.
Read and review! No flames here!
