Hey, guys! I've read a lot of stories, so I guess it's time that I write one myself! So, here is my totally awesome story!
To Hear An Angel Sing
"Hn. This is nice."
Tenten smiled. She and Neji were sitting on a hill in the middle of the night. There was no one else around but them and the fireflies.
"…" Neji was silent, as usual. Tenten glanced at him from the corner of her eye. He was still a little dirty from their training earlier.
Tenten looked back up at the moon. It was full and slightly purple.
Just like his eyes…Tenten let out a small chuckle. Neji looked over at her with a confused/agitated look on his face.
"What was that for? What's so funny?" Tenten didn't look at him, just continued to smile. "I demand to know." His stern voice was ruining her moment.
"I have a song stuck in my head," she lied.
"Oh. What song?" he asked. He didn't know what type of songs Tenten listened to- he didn't really care, but now it was poking at him like the rock in his back. He shifted his position so he was lying on his side to look at her. He was propped up on his elbow, looking down at her.
She looked at him, and then looked back up, her mind racing with songs. "Oh, nothing. Just a song you wouldn't know."
"Hmph. I don't care. Sing it." Tenten looked at Neji with a weird look on her face.
"Did Neji just ask me to sing?""I'm serious. Sing. Now." He smirked some. This was getting interesting.
"Fine. I'll hum. But I refuse to sing." Tenten began to hum quietly, embarrassed by the fact that the Hyuuga's bright eyes were still staring intently into hers.
"Sing louder," he said calmly.
She began to hum louder. Not sing-hum.
Neji laid back, listening to his teammate hum. He had no idea what the song was—but that didn't matter. He just kept on listening.
Tenten closed her eyes, then began to actually sing. She sang quietly at first, then built up.
Neji began to sort of rock his head back in forth. Tenten wasn't all that bad of a singer.
Realizing what she was doing, Tenten abruptly stopped. "Ah- I know, I know, I'm a horrible singer. I shouldn't have—oh, geeze."
Neji turned toward the babbling teen. She stopped singing, right when he was getting into it.
"I mean, I know. I shouldn't have even brought it up, and now I'm probably boring you, and,"
Neji propped himself on his elbow again. Tenten was waving her arms around, but she was lying on the ground. He noticed she was blushing, and there was a strand of hair over her left eye. He brushed it out of the way.
Tenten froze. "Neji…"
He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her.
No. You sounded like an angel.
