A/N: This is a piece of shit fanfic that I wrote a while ago…I am now deciding to post it. I'm sorry it sucks but whatever. Crap…I had something important to say about it too…oh well I don't remember
Prologue:
It was nearly the end of summer and I really didn't want to go back to school. I would have been in 5th grade and in a new school. Everything would be new to me, new rules, new, building…no friends. I had to leave my friends behind in the States just to move to England with my father. My mother had just died the last year and I had to live with my older "sisters" for the time being. Before I knew it I was shipped off to England to live with a man I didn't even know.
When the plane landed I tentatively got off and looked around. I noticed a man with black hair walking up to me. He had a very unpleasant look on his face like I was shit on the bottom of his shoe. The man looked at me carefully and said, "You must be Jennifer. You look just like your mother." His voice was low and slightly monotone. "I'm David. You can just call me David. I don't like the whole "Dad" thing." I only nodded as I began to walk with him to get my luggage. "So how old are you now."
"I'm going to be ten soon." I said quietly.
He looked at me as he grabbed my only suit case and raised an eyebrow. "Is this all you have?"
I nodded. "We didn't really have a lot of anything." I saw something flash across his face but it was gone as fast as it came. He didn't say anything only sighed and began to walk. I followed quickly after him.
We reached his car, I didn't know what kind it was but it looked nice. David opened the passenger door for me and I got in. He threw my bags in the back seat and drove off.
Neither of us spoke during the trip. There was just that awkward silence that surrounded us. I watched to scenery fly by, trying not to notice how very uncomfortable I was. "So, how long have you been living in America?" David asked so suddenly that it made me jump.
"Ever since I can remember," I answered. Again, he didn't say anything but kept his eye on the road ahead of him. After a few more minutes of driving, David pulled into a driveway of a rather nice house.
"Well here we are." David said as he shut off the engine. He grabbed my suitcase as I got out and walked over to the front door. I was standing a good distance behind him. He opened the door and walked in. I didn't follow him but eyed the doorway suspiciously. "Jennifer, are you coming?" he asked. He noticed the look on my face and smiled, for the first time. He looked like a nice man when he smiled and it made me feel a little more comfortable around him. "There isn't a trap, just so you know."
"Right," I mumbled and walked in. He gave me a tour of the house. It was smaller than I thought it would be. The last room he showed me was my room. The room was large and had its own bathroom.
"Well this is your new home. I hope you like it." David left the room while I began to unpack.
A/N (again): Yeah…it was short and crappy but I promise it will get better. Well at least I hope. I'll post the next part soon.
